We hadn't stayed in a B and B before but this was one of the most wonderful experiences from start to end. Ethna welcomed us very warmly and made us feel at home throughout our whole stay. Ethna is very friendly, with a lovely sense of humour as well as being very knowledgeable and helpful about the breath-taking surrounding area.

Good family-run hotel. Owner stayed up to open the door with a smile for us even though we were running late and reached only at 10pm. Next morning, his staff said if you want anything to eat that they don't serve, she'd go and buy for the future breakfast. WOW.

Dean and Steph are warm and welcoming. They helped us in getting around the Lake District and even offered to give us lifts to some places. Breakfast is large and delicious. Rooms are clean. For us who were traveling only by bus there is a bus stop just next to the cottage. Keswick is just 20 min away by bus. Keswick is a lovely peaceful little town. I highly recommend a lake tour by the boat. From Keswick it is easily to visit all the lake by bus.

Location was amazing, not much more than a football pitch away from the shore of Windermere, accessible through a stile. Lodge was very clean and modern, great views. One staff member couldn't have been more helpful when I asked him for plates and cutlery, as we were getting a take-out! Great value at £70 per night. Great place for outdoor pursuit

The setting of Brathay Hall is stunning with great views of the lake, and the hall it self commanding. We had a twin attic room which was ideal for what we wanted after being in the hills all day, good shower comfy bed tea/coffee making facility, small bar but no food available, good breakfast next day, all in all well worth the payment and would use this place again.

Everything. Clean spacious room. Tea coffee biscuits all provided. Bathrobes as well. Ensuite was spotless. Connor nd his mum were excellent hosts. The breakfast was excellent with a choice of fresh fruit cereals. And a full English . Parking was outside the hotel. All in all an excellent weekend was had. Highly recommend this guest house .

Annesdale is close to the train station and an easy walk to shops and restaurants in Windermere. The hosts of Annesdale are very friendly. We appreciated that they gave us (and our luggage) a ride to the train station. The beds are comfortable and we enjoyed our own sitting room and garden complete with a table to enjoy a quiet time outside. -

The location was ideal even walking up the rather steep hill became bearable after a couple of times. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. Fiona the host was very friendly and had a good knowledge of the area offering advice and tips of where to eat and giving directions to local places.
We were made to feel very welcome and comfortable, the en-suite was small but cleaned every day and breakfast was excellent with a selection of fruits, yoghurts, cereals, fruit juices and a full cooked English made to order.

Located conveniently at the edge of the town, had a great welcome, with delicious homemade biscuits on the tea tray. Generously sized room (Ground Floor Twin) with very comfortable beds, lots of storage space. Electric sockets next to table and mirror. Good sized bathroom. Room clean and presentable. From the moment we arrived we were made really welcome. Mike (the owner) was helpful in every way, showing us around and offering to carry our bags to our room which was very comfortable. Breakfast was a delight from the vast array of cereals & fruit available to the full English that we ordered on the first morning to the lighter choice on our second.

The Fold is a small extremely well run and beautifully designed guest house. Keven and Rachelle are excellent hosts. The rooms are well appointed and make very good use of space. I am 6'4" and stayed in the smallest room and ensuite shower was still big enough for me to bathe comfortably. There was also no footboard to the bed. (Why do hoteliers ever think a foot board is a good idea. It isn't -
