    yself and my husband and another couple stayed 1 night and chose this hotel due to the location - close to seascale but the location was beautiful the bar was a typical country inn type, the staff friendly, food was good & the Kamikazi real ale went down well. The room was small but clean and comfortable and good value for the price we paid. T... what people say » here was a large TeePee in the beautiful gardens in preparation for a wedding. We love Country Villages we would definitely stay again. - We wanted a real good value pub as a walking base for the weekend, we found one right in the middle of the lakes. From the moment we arrived the staff couldn't do enough for us - big thanks. The food was straightforward, good quality and great value. The beer was exceptional and again great value. We loved all the fires and so did our dogs. The rooms we ok, nothing special, but clean and comfortable. We will be returning again.

    superb food,exellent and very helpfull staff, do not be put off by the price of food its not your regular steak and chips type of thing and its cooked to order! What a view from the balcony rooms stunning! - Everything! We have stayed at the hotel before and chose it for our honeymoon, the perfect place for peace and quiet.

    Very friendly and helpful staff. Close to town, within walking distance. Accommodation warm, comfortable and all facilities one would expect. Food not exceptional but tasty and well cooked. All in all a pleasant stay and hope to return one day. - Decor is a little dated but it adds to the ambiance!     The staff were very friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Lovely room, fantastic view and amazing food - if you stay there you have to eat in, you won't find better food anywhere. - Very friendly. Just what I needed for the brief stay.

    the welcoming atmosphere, friendly, helpful, but not over-intrusive staff. Hotel does not have unrealistic pretensions, it knows itself and doesn't pretend otherwise. Room was spotless and comfortable, with a surprisingly large bathroom.     I loved the look of the building , Colin the guy on reception was really friendly , told me the history of the house . Food was hot and very filling . The price t, the views from the window . Very relaxing . All the staff very welcoming noting was too much . Best nights sleep in months . I text my friends and I'm already looking at returning later... what people say » in the year . The hotel is in the middle of refurb , little bit of chipped paint but overall I lloved it .Not stopped telling folk about it. I had B& - It was in an excellent location for our needs, we had a friends wedding to attend in maryport. The staff were all vey friendly and helpful.The tea making facilities in the room with biscuits was good, and the room was lovely and warm. overall, it was a lovely old country house, and we would definetly stay there again.

    I love Eskdale and come in every year. Usually stay at Stanley but was full so booked Woolpack which we also knew for food/drink.     Staff were polite and helpful. Room was quiet and respectful. It represented the Lakes environment, it was a simple shelter which had the essentials and no more in a mountainous region.     Room was large, clean, very light with big windows, really nice! We were made very welcome by all staff. We took our large dog which was also really welcomed and she could go anywhere including the bar, other than the restaurant.
