    The journey north was oh so slow but the warden was quite happy for us to arrive after closing time, which was a great relief and we had a room to ourselves (two of us) so we could continue packing for the weekend. The bunks were very comfortable and were already made up for us. We could get a beer on arrival. There were plenty of showers and toil... what people say » ets. Breakfast was great! with lovely hot porrage and lots more unexpected treats. Plenty of parking. Everything was clean and comfortable. - Very clean - excellent!!! Nice bar area and good breakfast! Very good value!!! We had sleeping bags, but bedding is in rooms - so no needed! We stayed first time in UK`s yha Hostel and we were worrying about atmosphere comparing to our polish hostels but really enjoyed!!! Lovely !!! We`ll be using yha Hostels before book any hotels from now!!!

    As always a really good night's stay at a Premier Inn. You can always be assured what you get will be clean, reliable, and friendly for a great price. In this case, the front desk staff member went above and beyond in helping us get our laundry washed and dried, which was a real help a week into our vacation. - Large room, clean. Great value and ... what people say » yet comfortable. Staff was very friendly and even did some of our laundry as they did not recommend us going to a laundry as they are in an unsafe part of town.     When we got to Lakeside House we were personally shown to our room - No 1. The room was very roomy, comfortable and nicely decorated. The bed was huge! The location was brilliant - just a short walk to the centre of Keswick. Breakfast was excellent - particularly the Eggs Benedict. All the staff were friendly and gave us good advice on places... what people say » to visit and names of good restaurants. We really enjoyed our first visit to the Lake District. - Everything! Warm and friendly, welcoming, respectful, happy and competent staff, wonderful breakfasts beautifully prepared/cooked, decor restful with warm tones modern but not clinical.     Excellent value for money. Exceeded our expectations for a youth hostel.......where else could you get a clean, comfortable bed and a full English breakfast for less than £30? Would have been even less if two members of our party hadn't dropped out!     Plenty of space to move around in the room and to hang your clothes up, Freeview tv & radio, comfy bed, tea making facilities (we took extra tea bags & milk), plenty of parking space, fairly close to Whitehaven (by car), option to eat at Brewers Fare - I have stayed in this hotel before.     We had a wonderful stay at Firgarth. We were greeted as soon as we arrived with a cup of tea and really helpful advice and suggestions for things to do. Our room was very cosy and cleaned every day; breakfast was delicious and made to our particular requests.     The property was convenient and clean. The staff were all so helpful and friendly. The view along the park and river is beautiful. We loved it and would definitely suggest the place to others.     Annesdale is close to the train station and an easy walk to shops and restaurants in Windermere. The hosts of Annesdale are very friendly. We appreciated that they gave us (and our luggage) a ride to the train station.     The location was ideal even walking up the rather steep hill became bearable after a couple of times. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The breakfasts were excellent and the owners went out of their way to welcome you and had a pleasant manner. We respected the other guests in the hotel and likewise. I understand a comment was made regarding the owners being too strict and tre - Fiona the host was very friendly and had a good knowledge of the area offering advice and tips of where to eat and giving directions to local places. We were made to feel very welcome and comfortable, the en-suite was small but cleaned every day and breakfast was excellent with a selection of fruits, yoghurts, cereals, fruit juices and a full cooked English made to order.     We stayed in a camping pod for the first time for two nights, the pod was clean, and surprisingly spacious! Enough room for the airbed and bags etc. There was a small heater, lamp and 2 camping chairs. The toilets and showers were clean. One evening we stayed at the hostel and had a 3 course meal, which was tasty and good value. The lounge area... what people say » was typical YHA and clean. The staff were helpful and friendly. Only a 15 min walk into hawkshead where there is a couple of pubs and a few shops - We stayed in one of the "pods". It had lighting and heating and was very cosy to stay in. Would recommend it to anyone that is wanting to camp especially if it's getting cold out. The staff were very helpful and they have a drying room for all your wet gear. If your going to the Lake District stay here. Don't miss hard knott pass for amazing views too. It's narrow for 2 cars but it's worth the climb.

    The hotel is in an excellent location to see the Lake District. The only issue is the parking. The hotel does not own the parking lot so you must pay to use it. The lot is also rather small so you may have to park on the street and move your car by 9:00 in the morning or be ticketed. - The staff were very friendly and helpful on our arrival. Central to all shops and restaurants and nice little park next to the hotel.
