    I very much liked the friendliness of the staff. All were polite, helpful and welcoming. After a very long walk one morning, I arrived back at the hotel half an hour after breakfast ended, but even so, the chef was more than happy to make me some food - I really appreciated it. Many thanks for a very pleasant stay. - The staff, who were friendly and helpful. The food, which was so good I didn't bother going anywhere else for dinner. The heated towel rack in the bathroom, which meant all my wet things dried! The location in Keswick, which is ideal for a non-driver. General comment: I spent 12 nights there and couldn't have been happier.

    I loved the look of the building , Colin the guy on reception was really friendly , told me the history of the house . Food was hot and very filling . The price t, the views from the window . Very relaxing . All the staff very welcoming noting was too much . Best nights sleep in months . I text my friends and I'm already looking at returning later... what people say » in the year . The hotel is in the middle of refurb , little bit of chipped paint but overall I lloved it .Not stopped telling folk about it. I had B& - It was in an excellent location for our needs, we had a friends wedding to attend in maryport. The staff were all vey friendly and helpful.The tea making facilities in the room with biscuits was good, and the room was lovely and warm. overall, it was a lovely old country house, and we would definetly stay there again.

    The rooms were comfortable, the breakfast was full and hearty. good enough to have a days walk on. he staff were only too keen to advise on what you wanted to do on your stay. - Breakfast was great and the owner was extremely friendly, very close to Bowness too. 100% recommended!! For the price, the room was superb. Well worth a look!

    Lovely stay, great breakfast. Heather looked after us and any made us feel really welcome. We were given a choice of two rooms on arrival which was great. Nothing was too much trouble. The thermostat was adjusted so we had more heat in our room which was very welcome on a rainy day in the lakes(who'd have thought that could happen?) The guest room was very clean and well presented and we had everything we needed and the breakfast was to die for. Heather always made sure we had everything we wanted or needed during our stay. The location of Chestnuts was very good because it was a 15 minute walk to the shops and 20 minutes to the nearest lake. Me and my fiance will be going back there very soon...     The friendly owners Geri and Trevor made us feel so welcome, from the moment we arrived. They were happy to help us in everyway to ensure our stay at Brierholme was enjoyable. We requested a room with a view and we were allocated room No. 7, which was at the back and had a nice view over their garden and a distant fell. We appreciated the two complimentary bottles of drinking - The hosts Gerry & Trevor were very welcoming and always happy to help and advise on trips/days out/walks etc. offering plenty local knowledge which was very helpful. The whole B&B was spotlessly clean with added extras in the room eg bottled water, cotton buds, tissues. Breakfast offered a wide choice from fresh fruit and cereal to a full english and it was all fresh and delicious.

    We booked this online for a midweek short break and as a fusy person I am particular where I stay but this place was a little gem and we thoroughly enjoyed the place and owners. They were polite , friendly and knowledgable about anything you needed to know about traveling in the area and lake district.The breakfast was tasty and very enjoyable. wo... what people say » uld recommend and will definately return in the future.The rooms were immaculate,clean and comfortable. A little haven in the countryside. - we spent three gloriousl nights , we had the best room in the house patio doors looking over green fields and water .     My friend and I recently visited Oakthwaite for 2nights and we genuinely couldn't say any more positive about our experience. The guesthouse is set in beautifully kept grounds ideally situated between Windermere and Bowness. The room was immaculate and very cosy but the 'pièce de résistance' was the separate bathroom with roll-top bath and shower ... what people say » cubicle (fantastic shower) which really stole limelight. Our stay was made even better because of the host Deborah. Deborah made us feel very welcome, - A fantastic B & B with a very welcoming host. It has been decorated to a top standard. Breakfast was available in a lovely little cafe in the town which was lovely. Would definitely recommend. Thank you very much for making us feel welcome.
