    The room which had recently been refurbished was excellent. The bed was comfortable, the decor bright, modern and tasteful and the shower was easy to use.     The whole friendly atmosphere was very reasurring and comforting. We enjoyed the company and the surroundings and ease of travelling to otehr centres and scenic spots. The food at The Beacon was superb, and I have to say the best scrambled eggs with mushrooms that we had any where in the UK while travelling. Delicious.     Attention to detail for residents' comfort and enjoyment was particularly noteworthy. Our hosts cultivated a convivial family atmosphere without being too intrusive.     Almost everything. This is a perfect getaway destination, even travelling from other, more urban parts of the West Country. The coastline is rugged and romantic, and family friendly, sandy beaches are not far away. It is also excellent for walkers, being practically on the South West Coast Path.     we had a lovely sea-view good choice of breakfast, plenty of it, owner checking regular to see if we wanted more toast and juice. lovely shower, great value for money. owner only recently purchased property so up dating as quick as he can - The gentleman running it, Paul, is really friendly and kind.     The staff were extremely helpful, the check in process was fast and efficient. The room was warm and comfortable. The Staff at the May Tree Restaurant next door were equally pleasant and efficient, and the restaurant had a good family atmposhere.     Lovely venue to stay, right in the centre of town opposite the old post office, a national trust property well worth a visit. The rooms were adequate but spotlessly clean, beds were very comfortable, bed linen, towells very good quality white and clean. Breakfast was served in the bar area, quality and presentation good. All the staff were friendly and helpful. - 3 bedroom flat adjacent to pub meant plenty of room for our family, plus it was quiet since it wasn't directly above the pub. Beds were large and comfortable, plenty of pillows. Breakfast was included and it was fab. We had dinner at the pub as well and it was excellent. Staff was helpful and friendly. We decided we wanted to stay an extra night and they worked out a spot for us!

    We were met by the host in the carpark, she insisted on carrying our bags (we didn't allow her). She was very welcoming, warm and cheerful...I don't think we've ever been greeted more warmly in our years of travel. The flat is very nicely decorated with a living room / TV room and kitchen with table downstairs. Upstairs is a very comfortable bedro... what people say » om and bathroom (tub w/shower). The kitchen was well equipped for self catering and our host had kindly included a container of eggs, a package of won - Gorgeous comfy little hideaway. Tiggy is lovely and made us feel so welcome. Superb fish and chips from Lewis's ..actually did us for two meals.. bacon and eggs and bread provided for breakfast, and orange juice and muesli and fresh ground coffee...just excellent! Lovely walks along the coastal path to Mousehole and enough small shops to mooch around. Will be back!
