Excellent buffet at breakfast - never seen curried chickpeas and basmati on a breakfast menu before, very very nice indeed. The cook was standing near the buffet and we had an excellent chat about vegetarian foods. The hotel is an excellent hotel overall, and the room was spectacular. The staff were super professional and friendly, and I greatly enjoyed it. The bar and lounge area were a great place to meet colleagues or to just sit and read quietly. - Anonymous

The room was comfortable and there was a heater which proved very useful during cool, wet weather. After checking out, I was able to leave my bag at the hotel until I needed to the railway station, several hours later. This is our fourth stay at the Mercure Holland House, Bristol. We have always received the best of attention from the staff who are very pleasant to a one. Our room is always good and we mostly have been able to have the same room on each stay. Breakfast is very good and we have had some lovely dinners there. Location is spot on with only a short walk to the river. - Helen

Very friendly attentive helpful staff. Reception area was very welcoming. The whole hotel was spotless. Excellent shower. Comfy bed. Amazing soundproofing - there is quite a noisy road outside, but we couldn't hear it at all, I was also surprised how busy the breakfast room was as we hadn't heard any other guests. Breakfast was reasonable value and very efficient. The guy clearing the tables was super fast. Very convenient to have a bar and restaurant in the hotel. We had a good evening meal to - Anonymous

The welcome and the staff were excellent, very helpful, efficient and friendly. The rooms were modern, spotlessly clean and of a good size although somewhat cool. As it was 5C outside they could have been warmer. The bed was very comfortable. The free WiFi, only in the lobby, shame not in rooms, and free parking is a very good feature. The location is excellent for the town centre and travel. The food in the Chop House was of a very high standard and reasonably priced, couldn't fault it. Stra - Anonymous

We were immediately greeted with friendly, efficient staff. Accommodation was spotlessly clean and the beds were very comfortable. Delicious breakfast - enough to set us up for a day's sightseeing! Thought it particularly good that checking out time is before 12- this gives guests enough time to have a leisurely breakfast and enjoy their surroundings. Especially good if you've previously had a late night at a show or concert. It's worth taking the lift to the top floor for the view. Thank you f - Anonymous

The room was fantastic - we may have been the first to stay in it, it certainly felt like that. High quality finish, very comfortable and luxurious. Especially the blackout (light and sound) curtains - we didn't stir until 11.30 Sunday morning! I recommend a wake up call so that you don't miss breakfast! Breakfast was wonderful (on Saturday!), in fact all food was flavoursome + delicious.***** - Philippa

The closeness to the centre of Bristol, only a 10 minute walk. The facilities in the room were excellent, its nice having the facility to cook if you want, and the bonus of the washing machine and dishwasher was brilliant. The room/apt was the perfect size for two of us, nice big bathroom and bedroom. Also loved the gated car park, its nice having the security which is often lacking elsewhere. - Rachel

Stayed 18-20th July 2013 room 210. Had a great stay here. Arrived a bit early at 12.30 but there was a room ready so we could check in. The parking is right next door in the NCP multistorey carpark. Unfortunately the carpark lifts are out of action but that's NCP's fault. The hotel validate your parking ticket so it only costs £12.50 /day. The room was plenty big enough, 2 double beds, view of trees outside. Being room 210 it was on second floor, maybe the higher floors had a better view but w - Anonymous

The location - just 10 min walk into the heart of the city (and the new Cabot Circus shopping center which my wife and daughter both loved)!
