Reading Hotels

Rooms were quite nice. A VERY quiet location. Breakfast was wonderful and was served by a wonderful wait staff. Dinner at the hotel was good, too. The only negative was the tele was not working properly and the staff said "i guess it's hit or miss" and the wi-fi NEVER worked on my computer but once in a 5 day stay. Signal was quite low. - Andrew

I stayed here for one night as part of a hen weekend. The room was very large with two double beds in it! more than enough for me and my friend. The bathroom was clean and had everything you could ask for (Clean towels, toiletries, power shower, bath etc There was plenty of storage and the room was decorated to a high standard. I stay away for work a lot, and get sick of hotel rooms and enforced breakfast, so to find this off-central location that I could just dump my stuff and eat beans on toast for tea suited me fine. 7 minutes to the train station, near twon centre but not too near. Brand new. Spotless and with a great view from #43 on the 4th floor. Tesco Express next door. TV with DVD player, clock radio (you don't get those anymore!) wi-fi - David

The Elmhurst Hotel in Reading is old and dated the rooms could do with a lick of paint.... that's the bad points the plus points are the staff are friendly and accomodating and the beds are really comfy. If you eat in the resturant which I would suggest as the food is excellent ask for the Lamb Curry as its superb. The old phrase is you get what you pay for and thats exactly what you get here. I could have lived in Travel Lodge for the year I was working in Bracknell but after a couple of nights - Dawn

The Reading area is full of overpriced expensive hotels, so when I found this one I was really surprised. Located not far from the M4 jct 12 and a large free on site car park, unusual for Reading! The rooms were not enormous but a decent size for the price I paid for a standard room £85. A nice lounge and an excellent restaurant too.I would definitely recommend this hotel for any traveller to Reading - Silvia

We spent two nights at this hotel over the May Bank Holiday weekend. We paid £58 per night through the hotel website, which we considered excellent value for the area. Check in was smooth and speedy and full information was provided about breakfast for the next two days. The room was very nice. It was very clean and tidy and more than adequate. I’ve stayed in Novotel twice and every time I was so impressed by the quality of the services, the people, by the nice and spacious rooms. Yes, it is centrally places and maybe no views but it’s quiet and perfect for business trips. And the personnel is so friendly and always ready to answer to your questions or requests. Definitely I’ll like to stay there whenever I’ll go to Reading. - Rebecca

This is the second time I have stayed in an Ibis Hotel and would always use this budget chain by choice. You never have to worry about cleanliness or poky rooms and you can be confident in knowing what you are going to get. The Ibis Reading Centre is a well run hotel with friendly and obliging staff, decent buffet breakfast, clean rooms and I found the bed comfortable. The "pod" bathroom was great with plenty of hot water and good shower pressure. The hotel is in a convenient location - Kenny

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights from 18th September and had a most enjoyable holiday. The location of the hotel suited us as it was not far in the car from the centre of Reading and there was free parking under the hotel. The hotel is adjacent to one of the main roads in Reading but there was no noise and trees that have been planted will soon screen this. The bedroom was spacious and the bathroom was great. The bed was a little too firm for me as I have a bad back so I asked housekepin - Allan

we stayed for 3 nights (thursday-sunday) the room was clean and tidy - the staff were friendly and ready to help on request - very accomadating on food preferences( they didnt have something when we asked but they had it for us the next morning) - the whole dickensian theme i loved - all in all a great stay, i will be visiting again - James
