After arriving by train, we spent 1 night at Carnson House before taking the Scillonian next morning. We were in room 6, on the ground floor, opposite the breakfast room. Rob greeted us and made us feel welcome - he also gave a good recommendation for dinner, the Dolphin Tavern, which we were pleased with. There were coffee and tea making facilities in the room, and a TV, and the beds were comfortable. Although the room was at the front, the double windows shut out any traffic noise very effe.
I don't think your categories do much for me but it is budget friendly. Similarly I'd recommend Penzance for anyone who wants to go there! It's a good jumping off point for anyone interested in West Penwith & Scilly. What do I like? It's very near the train and bus and shops. It's easy to find. Everything is done efficiently and to time. They are helpful to embarrassment -- but I'm prepared to be embarrassed! It has everything I need. I don't need much. Basics are there. My bathroom was exc.
I found the owner Rob Button so helpfull and polite, a perfect gentleman. The other staff working in the Guest House were also very friendly. The room was very clean and ideal for a single room, breakfast was huge and delicious, railway & bus station 5 mins walk away. Carnson Guest House good value, would recomend it.
Large, clean, comfortable room - very close to railway station and harbour, so ideal for overnight stop to or from the Scillies. The owners were away but their mother looked after us and made sure we had a cooked breakfast before rushing off early for the Scilly Islands ferry, for which we were very grateful.
Nice venue, nice people, nice room. Good breakfast - wide choice. Not a dislike but although I knew the bathroom would be separate it would have been nice to know that it were along the corridor and around the corner, slightly public - OTOH great facilities - would book it again.
Rob the host could not have been more helpful and kind.Room was clean, warm and quiet. The full Cornish breakfast was fantastic. The location is only minutes away from the bus and railway station and only about 15 mins walk from the ferry port for the Isles of Scilly.
We really enjoyed our stay at Carnson House, Breakfast was great, room fine and everywhere clean and tidy. Will book again when we return to Penzance. Everyone very pleasant and helpful. Enjoyed having plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits in the room.
Only short walk to both train station & bus station. Friendly/helpful owners eg blanket for Minack Theatre. Full English brekky. Clea & comfortable. In centre of town ie close to restaurants, shops, etc.
Rob and Belinda were very gracious and hospitable hosts. The location is excellent and the breakfasts were first class. I highly recommend Carnson House for a relaxing and enjoyable stay in beautiful Cornwall.
The B&B host was very helpful and considerate. Carnson House is a very cozy place to live if you are looking for a short break in Penzance. Lovely location to all sights in Penwith peninsula.
We were travelling without a car, and the accommodation is convenient to train and bus allowing you to explore all over Cornwall.
