excelent staff, friendly and helpful! unsure why eople would say it ruined there evening!!. Excellent evening meals available and very friendly staff. Lively pub and if you like cricket well worth the visit. Beautiful village. Perfect example of country pub BandB in idyllic little Cotswold village. High quality beers, wines and bar food. Best English fry-up breakfast I've had for years! The service throughout was as warm and friendly as one could ever hope for.Helpful and friendly staff, pleasant informal atmosphere, good food, and attractive surroundings. Room was clean, tidy, comfortable, and modern and linen was of a good standard. Although I had a problem with the initial room I was allocated, they did arrange a change of room without any fuss. The cricket memorabilia was very interesting, a great place to stay for followers of the game,. The Staff were fantastic and the food was very good. Friendliness and efficiency of staff. Great food. comforable and friendly service. The location, the lovely pub. Staff were very friendly. Good restaurant. Friendly staff. Good price. Comfortable room. Pleasant village. Very quiet. Village quiet and convenient to local sights. Staff welcoming and helpful.Food was excellent, staff very friendly and helpful, room spacious. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant - very decent food for the price. excellent food, friendly staff and a lovely area. Hotel was only a short drive away from Oxford. The food was good.lovely location and interesting decor , lovely coffee . Breakfast was good. Friendly staff and good food. Excellent food. TV reception terrible. The pictures that were in the rooms we nice but when looking closer at them you could see they were full of little black bugs which did put us off.WiFi not available in rooms, very noisy road for a village pub. Bins emptied at 05.30hrs and brewery delivery at 06.00hrs, avoid Tuesday mornings!! This is not a complaint as these things have to happen, I will stay at the Bat and Ball again. The village is so quiet it doesn't even have a shop so no morning newspapers were available. Just one small thing - the shower pressure was not really adequate. Hard to find but instructions on the internet by the Bat and Ball Inn made it a lot easier. Certainly worth the trouble.room was very small, but adequate. room looked lovely, only slight reservation were the lack of a bath and I kept banging my head on the pitched ceiling. Only a selection of the TV channels worked. No chair anywhere in bedroom, either for working or sitting to read/watch TV. I didn't need to do much work on this occasion, so not a problem. Breakfast not officially served until 7.30, although staff were very helpful in providing cereal/coffee/orange juice at 7.00, as I needed to leave at 7.30.bedroom very very small but we were warned!. The shower was annoying and the cellings were a bit low for people over 6ft. The bed was very uncomfortable. We heard the dust bins being collected in the morining.i thought the service in the resteraunt was a bit rushed, no sooner had we finnished our starter the main course arrived, also my husband doesnt eat eggs or tomatoes , i would have thought they could have added a bit more bacon as a swap fpr the things he asked to be left off on his breakfast. Room was very small, bathroom tiny. Not geared for people breakfasting latish.

Food & Drink
The restaurant at The Bat and Ball has a charming ambience. Stripped pine tables, exposed stone and brick walls and flagstone floors are finished with candlelight. We have recently been rewarded for our excellent food with an entry in the Micelin 'Eating Out In Pubs' guide - only 500 pubs in the country feature in this wholly impartial guide. Please note: breakfast on the weekends is from 08.30 am.

Travelling information
From m40: Exit motorway at junction 8a (The junction with the services on). Head east towards the a40 and as you reach the apex of the bend, you will see a road off to the right signed Wheatley. Turn down this way and follow the road for approx one mile, past Asda and Wheatley Car Sales. You will come to a pub called The Kings Arms, you need to turn left here (where the road forks). Follow this road for approx one mile until you reach a crossroads. (There is a churchyard opposite on the right at this junction) Turn left down a steep hill. At the bottom of this hill, go across the staggered junction. Proceed up the hill towards Garsington, passing a pub called The Railway on your right and a q8 filling station on your left. After approx one mile, you should see a turning on your left into Cuddesdon, we are in the centre of the village.
FROM RING ROAD (A4142): Between Cowley and Headington (closer to Cowley) is Horspath Industrial estate. Turn up towards this estate and keep on the main road into Horspath (approx 1 mile). Continue through the village around nasty bend (you will find the Chequers pub on this bend) and out through village underneath rail bridge. Continue up this road up small hill for approx one mile. At the T-junction, turn left towards Wheatley and then first right into Cuddesdon, we are in the centre of the village.
FROM SCIENCE PARK (Littlemore/Sandford Area): Turn left out of Science Park and drive to the main roundabout (approx 1-mile). Turn right onto the Watlington road. After about mile, turn right towards Garsington. At the junction, take the right hand fork and proceed towards Wheatley. After about 1 mile, look for the signpost on your right to Cuddesdon. We are about one mile down here in centre of village. Always look out for road signs as they are old fashioned, small and non-reflective. If you do have difficulty, call us and we will guide you in.
