This is a lovely bed & breakfast. We had 2 nights and was given a lovely spacious room with very comfy king size bed, lovely views of the country side. There was great attention to detail with things like hand wash, hand cream in the bathroom. The owners were very helpful when it came to recommending places to eat etc and booked us a table at a local pub for our first night. Breakfast was very good and presented lovely. We had a lovely couple of days and would highly recommend it. The. all reviews »
We could not give higher praise for this quaint, yet modern B&B. We had a beautifully accommodated room with a wonderful view of the countryside, a modern private bathroom, teas, biscuits, and free secure wi-fi. The luxurious bed was like sleeping on a cloud - best rest we had since arriving in country. The complete English breakfast was perfect and the hosts are wonderfully cheerful and helpful. A great bargain for the experience and only 8-10 minutes to Oxford city-center.
The host was fabulous, very welcoming, friendly and knowledgable about the area. He also cooks a mean breakfast! The location was perfect for a trip into Oxford (we did Park and Ride as suggested by the host due to parking being a potential nightmare, and he was right), but as the house was located in the country, it was peaceful and so picturesque - yet a stones throw away from the centre of Oxford . Thank you - we loved it.
The accommodation was really lovely. The room was very tastefully decorated and the bed was incredibly comfortable. The breakfast was lovely and the setting of the B&B is just lovely. There is great access to lovely walks in the area and we did an all day walk along the thames path to Oxford stopping at the Trout for lunch (superb). The host is lovely and very accommodating,.
We had a wonderful stay- very friendly couple who ran the B and B and the room was gorgeous, with a newly renovated bathroom. The cooked breakfast in the morning was delicious and a perfect way to finish our stay. We had a great meal at The Bear and Ragged Staff nearby in the evening, which we would also highly recommend.
everything. the room was spacious, very comfortable, especially the bed. i loved the decor and the bathroom was a good size and also decorated well. owners were absolutely lovely and extremely helpful. couldn't do enough for you.cute dog to pat as well. lovely breakfast as well. would recommend to everyone.
The room was absolutely lovely with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. It had a lovely spacious en-suite and a beautiful view. Everything was clean and fresh, like new. The breakfast was delicious, cooked to perfection. Carianne and Eddie were so welcoming and knowledgable. We will return!.
Everything! Lovely friendly welcome. Beautiful room and a magnificent bathroom. Beautiful breakfast. Close to Oxford for a city trip and also in the countryside to explore elsewhere. Great location, lovely people, wonderful room and bed and fantastic breakfast. Would definately recommend.
Friendly, welcoming hosts.
Very cute dog Lula.
Delicious breakfast cooked to order.
Stone throw to Farmoor Reservoir.
Camp site as well.
We took our bicycles with us, it's 3 ish miles to Oxford, just perfect. Just be careful cycling on a fairly busy road - one mile without a cycle lane.
I loved our room, very clean and cosy with a nice modern bathroom. The owner was lovely and made us very welcome. I wasn't feeling well in the morning and she kindly brought us breakfast in bed. With countryside around you feel away from the bustle yet Oxford is a very short trip away.
The room was beautiful...most comfortable bed we have ever slept in. Fantastic shower too. Lovely rural surroundings, yet easy to find and just a short drive from Oxford.
Liked having breskfast at the big table with other guests.
The hosts were friendly and gracious. The property is very quiet, yet close to Oxford (6 miles). The room was spotless, the bed very comfortable, and the breakfast as good as you can find anywhere. The wireless is fast.
I enjoyed easy access to countryside walks and the city for shopping and sightseeing. Good pubs and restaurants within short drive. Quiet B&B which was relaxing, friendly and comfortable with delicious breakfast.
Great bed. Great location for visiting surrounding
areas. Wonderful hosts. Ease of parking and finding the place. No deposit required hence cash only payments which was advised at time reservation was made.
Really friendly owners couldnt do enough for us. We were made to feel really welcome. Could get a bus into Oxford from nearby and a taxi cost around £10. We stayed as two couples and both rooms were lovely.
The hosts were very friendly and helpful. Location just outside Oxford in the countryside was very peaceful. We felt at home and would love to have stayed longer. We would highly recommend this B & B.
Eddie and family made us very welcome. Quiet with superb comfort and attention to detail makes it a place to kick back and relax or a quiet base with easy access to the city of Oxford.
Very friendly helpful hosts, rooms are beautifully furnished, comfortable and well equipped, great location just outside the city and a wonderful breakfast to complete the package!.
Quiet location Host advice on dining options and assistance with making
arrangements. Assistance with carting heavy suitcases to room. Wholesome
breakfast. Value for money.
My partner and I had a wonderful stay at Lane House.
The hosts were super and unobtrusive.
It's a wee hidden gem and I would definitely recommend this gorgeous b&b.
The owners were very friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable with it's big bed, lovely bathroom and quiet location. The breakfast was good too.
excellent stay, best suitable for mature couple with car.
clear, very quite , very nice host, and their dog lola ,super sweet dog. overall excellent.
Wake up to the birds signing to us. Beautiful stay near Oxford city centre, and a nice drive to Bichester Village for outlet shopping.
Very good room with spacious bathroom and good tea and coffee making facilities. Host recommended an excellent place for evening meal.
Cleanliness. Breakfast was lovely. Host was friendly and helpful. A bit out of town, but we knew it wasn't central, and liked this.
The owners were really nice ,and nothing was too much trouble.the breakfast was freshly prepared and good quality food.
Lovely quiet location with great bathroom.. Enjoyed our stay there.. Good pub recommendation for evening meal.
Bedding is very good quality
Toilet is neatly fitted out
House seems eco-friendly with toilet light sensor?.
The bed was sensational. Breakfast was Ok.The hosts were helpful and friendly. The local pub was very good.
It was very comfortable, the hosts were very friendly and helpful, the breakfast was to die for.
Beautiful surroundings. Very quiet and easily accessible. Rooms were gorgeous. Loved it.
Excellent location, rural location, welcoming hosts, good breakfasts, spotlessly clean.
Very friendly family run b&b, was very impressed and certainly worth the money.
Beautifu location, accomodation as described, very friendly owners,

Helpful staff.
Everything.
Friendly owners, gave great advise for eating at a local restaurant that served wonderful food and great beers.
Hosts were nice and helpful. Lovely views. Good base for Cotswolds and Oxford just like escape to the country.
cooked part of breakfast
clean facilities.
Good location. Everything was fine.
Clean
Suggested somewhere good to eat in the evening, and booked it for us.
The owner was very friendly.
Not much.
That we couldn't stay longer!.
Nothing!.
the only negative was no hooks for hanging clothes in bathroom
and opaque bathroom door with sensor light coming on during the night which could disturb other person sleeping.
Nothing!.
Nothing!.
Cash or cheques only - which wasn't a trouble at all, but be prepared.
The huge spider on the stairs! Noones fault though, it's the time of the year for them. Nothing else, enjoyed our stay very much.
Only that we were unable to pay with a credit or debit card.
You have to have a car to get to and from the B & B.
Stairs, don't recall them mentioned on Internet site. Room smlet than depicted im pics on internet. Translucent door to bathroom and unable to control the automatic lite. Had to wait for it to go off on its own at nite and would turn off while in the shower.
Nothing to dislike.
Some noise from next door guests until midnight. A written noise policy would help. Many accommodation facilities now display behaviour expectations and verbally state them politely on check in.
Lack of credit card option for payment was an issue as I hadn't read
the small print on page 2 of the booking confirmation and subsequently
had to locate an atm. This needs to be made more clear but in any
respect it didn't detract from the stay.
If I had to mention anything, it would be the opaque bathroom door which
dies not allow privacy and the seondir light in the bathroom which can
be distracting during the night.
Nothing.
1, may not suitable for young couple, almost too quite, you can hear people next door chatting, I had to wispier to my wife in our room to avoid disturbing other guest. sound proofing is a problem.
2. light sensor in bathroom not really a good idea.
3, mind you head.
Nothing to dislike.
Nil.
TV screen is too small
Toilet is quite small- no bathtub
Breakfast area is small.
Needed to have a car to go anywhere. (Not a problem for us).
Nothing to report.
It's a country farmhouse, so some doors and ceilings are quite low!.
That I didn't get a choice of what I wanted for my Full English Breakfast, but it was still very good.
N/A.
Central heating seemed to be on a timer and wasn't always on. So bathroom very cold in the morning.
Hard to find. The building needs a better sign. The motion detector and timer lights in the bathroom had the lights going on and off at inopportune moments.
Nothing!.
Nothing.
Hard to find at night. Need better signage.
Nothing.
Nothing much.
The smell from neighbouring dairy property was really disgusting. I know owners have spoken to farmer but it was a turn off. It was warm in upstairs bedroom but you couldn't,t open windows for the smell.
no fruit at breakfast
no drinking water in room.
shower controls difficult to fathom
location - not walking distance from bar/restaurant.
No acceptance of credit cards. Somewhat tense atmosphere.
Bathroom poor and small with little privacy.
Rooms very small and not well maintained.
Breakfast only average.
Our confirmation did not make it clear that card payment would not be accepted.
The place is too expensive for the poor location. It is basically a done -up little farm house amongst farm animals and a campsite.
From our experience this was the worst of the B & B's we stayed in this price range. Way overpriced for the experience.
