The outlook and views are fantastic. In addition we had a car accident in the middle of a touring holiday. On arrival at the hotel they were absolutely fantastic, arranging onward travel, car hire to continue our holiday. They rescued our holiday with simply fantastic service and support. Location very good. Staff seemed friendly/interested but efficient. Nice bar/restaurant. Room cleaned to a high standard daily. Had a specific room for a 5 person family.

The staff and the food were absolutely first class. It was a very restful break. I dont believe the internet photos do it justice. The location is simply amazing!!! The location was very good with a great view over the Loch from our bedroom and from the dining room. The Corran Ferry across the road adds extra interest and was not intrusive at all. The location is fantastic - 10 minutes south of Fort William and a shortferry ride over the loch. Next to the loch with the mountains asbackdrop. Quite different from an international big city branded hotel ie "charming". ferry noise 6.15 am - 9.30 pm; reluctance of staff to reset wi-fi connection that was not working; would have liked a sandwich for supper, but only full restaurant meals available. renting bikes would be a nice idea...piped music became irritating!. Having to access it by a ferry that stopped running at an early hour put a sense of time pressure on the afternoon, so plan accordingly. The back roads in Scotland are beautiful but slow.You need to ferry (£6.20 per car) to arrive there or more than 30 miles in a very small street.It isn't in Fort William and in the evening you haven't where you can go. Select carefully from the menu - we found some of the food to beexcellent (breakfast, steak, pie) but some a bit ordinary (risotto,scampi). Suggest sticking to the ones based on fresh produce.Twin beds rather than double. A bit noisy (ferry and late drinkers). I have an aversion to wood chip wall paper. Good food. Great location. Friendly staff.The mattress was old and uncomfortable. Parts of the hotel were slightly run-down. To be expected from an older property such as this. It was a little difficult to get to because you must take a short ferry trip. As I recall the ferry stops running at 9:30pm, so if you plan on arriving late, do not choose this hotel. The pre eating arrangements were off putting. We were directed to the Public Bar to look at the menu and choose our meals.We had a lengthy stay in the Public Bar to wait for the meal to be ready and then we were taken to the Restaurant to eat our meal. The table we sat at was available all the time we were kept in the Public Bar. This method of dealing with resident diners lowered standards.it was freezing and the heating was rubbish. Room was dated and bedding was poor. Mattress was very soft and needs to be replaced.

Please note that the quickest way to get to the inn is via a 3-minute ride on the Corran Car Ferry.

Travelling information

The Inn is located 8 miles south of Fort William on the opposite side of Loch Linnhe.

By Car
From the South:
- 2 miles after the village of Onich, turn left for the Corran Ferry.
- Take the ferry across Loch Linnhe and the inn is directly in front of you as you disembark.

From the North:
- In Fort William, take the A82 for Glasgow.
- After 7 miles, turn right for the Corran Ferry.

The ferry runs from 06:30 to 21:30 Monday to Saturday and from 08:30 to 21:30 on Sundays. Crossings are twice per hour in each direction and take approximately 2 minutes. The ferry is a modern car ferry and can carry up to 35 vehicles. Please note that the Corran Ferry does not run on 25 or 26 December, or on the 1 and 2 January. If the ferry is not running, you are able to get to us via the A830 and A861 roads.
