The Old Manse is a delightful place to stay. The owners are great hosts and they have an attention to detail. Upon arrival they helped us with our bags and offered us a cold beer. The decor in the room we stayed in was superb and we had a great nights sleep. Breakfast was delicious but a little more variety could have helped. Excellent hosts.Comfortable room and notwithstanding disappointing weather views from our accommodation out to Mull were still atmospheric. Must be superb on a good day! May come back one day since our main objective was to see Staffa.which had to be aborted due to the adverse weather on the day of the trip.
all reviews » Anna and Simon are brilliant hosts, Anna makes the best breakfasts I have ever eaten after home of course, My wife was ill whilst we stayed and we were offered breakfast in Bed! They also sponsored my walk up Ben Nevis for charity, Cannot believe there is better in Oban for this price and close to town!. Everything about The Old Manse says quality. The owners are so friendly, the furnishings are excellent, the food was fabulous. There was loads of advice before and during our stay about where to eat and what to do. I would thoroughly recommend a stay here to everyone I know!. Excellent location with easy walking to city center and restaurants, beautiful view of Oban harbor, clean and comfortable room, excellent breakfast and friendly, accommodating hosts. All considered, this was a wonderful guest house and we would definitely stay here again. The warm welcome from our hosts and the spotlessly clean room and public areas. Also the beautiful view from the bedroom window and dining room. Breakfast was very good and varied. Nice thick white towels, changed daily if required. Quite close to town for evening dining. Delicious breakfasts. Incredibly comfortable beds.Thick, fluffy towels. Mini sherry decanter as well as teas, shortbread etc in the room. Proximity to town center for restaurants and shopping is an easy walk. Simon and Anna have lots of knowledge about their area. The breakfasts are very good with a nice variety. The b+b is not accessible to wheelchair users and has a fairly long flight of steps going down from car park to front door without a hand rail. We hadn't realised before we booked/arrived. Leaving!. Not the biggest car park going. err....nothing !!. N/A. Changeable & unpredictable Scottish weather, out with the control of the owners of course!!. would have liked to have seen decaffinated coffee provided in bedroom apart from that great stay. Nothing. found the bed a bit too hard for us and curtains did not block out much light so hard to sleep. The priciest place we stayed of equal properties. I can't eat a big breakfast so quite pricy. athroom a little basic. there was nothing that we did not like. Showers could be stronger but the house is 100 years old. The weather!. nothing. Liked everything. Nothing. nothing. Poor Car Parking.
