The suite we were given was really comfortable in an annexe (converted cottage), It was full of old world charm, tastefully decorated and had it's own beautiful cottage garden full of scented flowers. The main hotel was only a few yards away and was equally attractive with excellent service. I also liked the fact that by booking through letsbookhotel.com we managed to secure this paradise for £60 per night instead of £150! I would certainly try to book again when we are next in Nottingham.
all reviews » It's hard to find better staff, it was bonfire night and the staff arranged us so we could see the fireworks while waiting for the dinner at the restaurant. Also made possible that my girlfriend could have dinner, that's rare because she's allergic to so many things that usually restaurants can't serve us. Also truly fast Wifi, we could stream HD with our netflix account. A fabulous hotel which was out of the city yet with very easy access. It was individual so without the sameness of similar value chain hotels. Comfortable,clean and lovely breakfast. Would definitely stay here again if in the area. Location was lovely - in a quiet, quaint village. Really pretty gardens and rooms with a real country cottage feel. Excellent service and friendly staff - breakfast was fabulous. We loved it. The bathroom was spacious but a little basic and the shower was not great over the bath. I booked a suite room but was not given the right room, i was given the down graded size double room instead. There was no wardrobe and the shower didnt work. very quite in bar area. Nothing. all good!. We didn't like the fact that none of the windows would open and with it being hot we had to use two fans. If there was a fire in the stairwell then there would of been no means of an escape as the stairs was the only way in and out and windows would not open. My breakfast was very average in terms of presentation and tinned mushrooms (lots of them!) along with burnt toast let the hotel down. We weren't told what time breakfast was, where it was, breakfast was lovely but took a long time for food to be refilled. didn't have evening meal wife doesn't eat meat not much chance for veggies. No extra blanket, no room service. We were given a cheaper room than the one I booked. Nothing to dislike. Poor shower and bathroom facilities, shower did not work on morning of our departure. The bed was quite small and not the comfiest. Room is a bit small and not suitable to do any work or study. Lots of cobwebs and noticed areas not cleaned. when breakfast was served the noise from kitchen staff was not good,it was loud and it was unprofessional for us to be sat there lisening to it.room size was very small and not good value for money.We only had one towel in our room.shower cubicule mouldy and tatty,. Food wasn't as good as last year. I woke up to no electricity and no heating and had to move to another room at 7am to use facilities. The room I was moved to was fabulous the initial room I was place in was poor. Was however given my evening meal free for inconvenience. Bit disappointed the junior suite was an ordanary double room, didn't look like the pictures on the Internet! Think this needs to be changed as false advertising. appalling service, grubby room, hugely overpriced,.
