If there was an option to give the staff more than a 5 + rating then I would. Thouroughly enjoyed my long weekend here and the staff were remarkably helpful and pleasant. I would hope this gets back to them and they can be commended for this. Lucia was fantastic and if she is not the Duty Manager then she should be ! Very helpful, very polite and couldnt do enough to make us feel at ease or help us in any way. Also a big thumbs up to the young blonde haired gentleman porter type chap who was v.
all reviews » This is a really special hotel. We really loved the quirky modern design. Everything was top notch. The staff were super friendly. Because we were kept waiting for a few minutes when we were checking in we were sent to our room with a bottle of champagne. The room was large and bright and decor interesting. Good free wifi - the kitchenette and 2 TVs were an unexpected bonus. (Would love to come back when the strip fire all along the front window of the hotel is alight in the cold weather.). One of the nicest hotels I ever stayed in.. Absolutely gorgeous ultra stylish and modern design,. In the lobby halls and rooms .. Free wifi,unbelievable shower and some of the most polite staff I've ever met, one left the hotel to bring me outside to explain we're all the shops and streets were .. Absolutely perfect hotel. Within 3-5 minutes walkin distance to middle of city centre, were all the shops' restaurants and clubs/pubs are all located and close by to each other. Me and my girlfriend stayed here for a weekend to watch the football and to have a nice weekend away. Chose the Sandman Signature for location and price and it really was a fantastic hotel. Incredibly comfy bed, tv, iron etc. it came with everything you need for a stay and the design was fantastic including a brilliant walk in shower with dropped water from the roof. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit a magnificent city. the staff were amazing especially the girl on the front desk when we arrived, she was well presented and very well mannered the room was very clean and modern would definitely use this hotel again. the same girl when we arrived was even more helpful and understanding when i had left my train tickets in the room after checkout she gave me my key back and let me check the room! great work sandman very pleased!. Had a great 2 night break with my husband , we decided to book-last minute for a relaxing weekend ,It was great from start to finish , we arrived at around 8,30 checked in and got our keys for the room , the staff were great couldn't fault them .We had a great view of the football stadium which my husband loved . xxx. Very comfy bed and excellent quality sheets, pillows and bedding. Shower room facilities were better than we would have imagined. The microwave, fridge and locations to obtain ice was a unique find in a hotel for us. Just loved the imaginative decor in the reception area Mega x. Every thing about this hotel doesnt have its own car park BUT reserved places across the road in a private car park was very easy to park . FROM THE MOMENT WE STEPPED THROUGH THE DOORS we were made very welcome to our departure excellent .Definately another stay un future . This is an excellent location for everything. It's across the road from st James park and walking distance from pubs and clubs. The room was excellent. It was clean and had a fridge, microwave, iron etc. I would book this hotel again if visiting Newcastle. Everything was perfect. The ajoining sports bar has some of the best food and drinks for reasonable prices. The overall customer service was fantastic and the rooms are modern, clean and confortable. I loved staying here the hotel was first class staff were very helpfull I know it's there job but they went the extra mile bar/club fantastic and breakfast was 100% if I was saying in Newcastle would defo stay here again. after a night out at "the toon" we got room service at three am for chips...highlight of the hotel. The fans in the bathroom were on ALL NIGHT despite every effort to switch off all devices and so thus kept us up. Similarly the room heater was very loud and we had to raise the volume if the tv. When lying in the bed the ceilings looked like they haven't been decorated (spoilt the standard of the room - was off putting when looking up from the bed. For a family room with kitchen facility there should at least have been an eating/sitting area. . not much to dislike!. Nothing. That I could not stay longer :). Paying for parking - £8 a day. Room rather small, AC v loud. Some unfinished decor in the room - ceiling and wall were unpainted plaster. Cleaning service was slowly, sometimes my room was not ready even in the late afternoons... I didnt want to go home :(. On arrival the male receptionist told us we had to pay £50 deposit for each nite and also our room amount, we told him we were not aware of this and we did not have enough money to pay an extra £100 for our room on arrival. When we went back later that day to check in after 3pm it was a new member of staff and we mentioned this to her and she said that we did not have to pay the deposit unless we were paying on arrival and clearing our bill. Lack of free parking. Not a complaint but clock radio not set right . Didnt check myself . Got up an hour early . Maybe cleaning staff could check when cleaning room. No parking at all which meant we had to find a car park a mile from the Hotel. Whilst the shower was hot and powerful a design fault means that it sheds water throughout the bathroom. Had to wait to check in when we got there at 3.25, check in is 3pm. Our room was a little bit dirty with rust on the kitchen top from the wine cooler. And peeling paint in the bathroom. No bath and rip off breakfast prices!. The toilets in the bar area were not clean in fact a bit smelly. No nice complementary welcome pack, drink or nibbles. Nothing. It was perfect. Door to bathroom was see through and didn't close fully! Since it was right next to the bed a little more privacy would have been appreciated! Only minor issue though. wasnt impressed with sofa bed would have preferred single bed, price of breakfast was dear,. Limited parking. nothing. Breakfast expensive at £15 if you only want a cup of coffee and a piece of toast, so I went elsewhere. Room slightly cramped, take out the stud wall between the bedroom and the lounge area and it would be perfect. Having to leave. Nothing. Smell of cooking/food in the bar area made the bar unusable for sitting and having a drink. Nothing!.
