The hotel was in an excellent location, good nightlife, the room wasvery clean. The price,the atmosphere. the ease of coming and going from the hotel without problems getting backinto the room etc. staff where very friendly. nice food. near the metro station, bar downstairs was ok,. location. For us the location was the key point and this was excellent.all reviews »
The room was basic but clean and well maintained. Good location, friendly staff. The location was a few minutes walk from the west jesmond tube station. we booked a room but because of the noise we had to move to the Cairn hotel which was fine. Checking out !!!!. Newcastle itself. not include breakfast. shower wasnt great. too expensive. The restaurant area for breakfast seemed very dark and not very welcoming althought the breakfast was fine and the staff were helpful.The location makes it more than a bit noisy - and rubbish collection ona monday morning would wake the dead!. The breakfast was very poor and the coffee was horrible. When I entered the room the bed sheets were not done, beer bottles all around the place. The occupants clearly were either still in the room or just left! The bar was just underneath so I think one can only sleep by 4 or 5am when the bar closes! Of course I didnt stay in this room and changed to another on the second floor. Extremeley noisey as our family room was situated above the bar and loudbooming music was played all evening which made the floor beneath ourfeet vibrate cannot understand why family rooms put above bar as Iunderstand that this is a regular occurence on a saturday evening. WeHad been travelling since 05.our room was over a very noisy bar with loud music playing. we had to move hotels due to the inconvienience. no cold water in room, fixed within a few hours. They apparently, don't do room service on weekends, and their weekend also seems to start on a friday.

Starting from Newcastle Airport roundabout, after 178 yards, take the first exit off the roundabout and after 101 yards, take the second exit off the roundabout in the direction of the A696 Newcastle and the South via the A696 and the A1. Continue straight into the A696. After 1 mile, take the third exit off the roundabout into the A167 (Ponteland Road). Bear left into the A167. Leave the A167 and join the A167(M). Leave the A167(M) and proceed straight ahead into the A1058. After 431 yards, take the first left at the traffic lights into the B1600 (Osborne Road). Continue straight into Osborne Road for a mile until you see the Carlton Hotel on your left hand side.
