This charming traditional coaching inn is a Grade II listed building and still retains many of its beautiful original features, such as exposed wooden beams.
Today, the hotel has 11 en suite rooms offering good-value accommodation right in the heart of the busy market town of Monmouth. All rooms have their own unique décor. Every room has a TV, free Wi-Fi wireless internet access and tea/coffee making facilities.
Punch House is one of Monmouth’s most popular pubs, and the cosy bar has become a meeting place for locals and visitors alike. The bar offers a fine selection of real ales, lagers and wines, as well as tasty food, made from locally sourced ingredients, every day, from 12:00 until 21:00. There is live music every Friday evening and outside seating areas are available.

friendly staff, cosy and traditional room with four poster bed. Convenience to places around Monmouth town and district. wireless internet, staff conduct. Nice room. homely. I have stayed at The Punch House on many occasions over the past 6 years. There is a poor selection of accommodation in Monmouth and The Punch House is the best of the bunch. Most of the rooms are very comfortable; one or two are less so. The hotel is really a pub with rooms but both the accommodation and the food are good value for money. The place seems to be popular with visiyting golfers. MJ. nice hot water!!! tea and coffee making facilities in room.Hotel ha plenty of character and is clean and comfortable. Very helpfull and attentive staff. Hotel is central and staff are friendly and helpful. Individuality of hotel and its rooms/. Atmosphere in bar. Clean Rooms and bath room no complimentary soap ect. There were a lot of flies in the bar area, which one customer complained about to which the staff member apologized for and said that they had tried a number of things to get rid of them. This should be looked into as there are a lot of things on the market nowadays that can get rid flies. the cooked breakfast was ok but not excellent. The accommodation is above the pub. It can be rather noisey, especially at closing time. toilet unclean on arrival. Breakfast service finsihed at 9:30 am. We were in the dining room for 9:25 and were advised we were too late. no soap in the bathroom. I was given a front door key to come and go...only to find that I was stranded outside on my own at 1a.m as the door had been locked from inside!!!! This is definitely something that needs to be sorted!!!. Room not as clean as it should be. Shower drain partially blocked and not cleared although we reported it.The room was not cleaned correctly with screwed up sweet wrapper behind one bedside table, the kettle flamed when plugged in and the room was too noisy with the live music on the Friday night that we stayed there. No soap in room. Stayed two nights no shampoo for second night. I would liked to have been informed that the kitchen was closed and therefore no evening meal, luckily weatherspoons across the road. booked a four poster bedroom which was given to a couple in my group because they arrived before us, staff thought this was a great laugh we found it very embarrising, also no mention of scaffolding right outside the front door.
