Excellent service,great value, very clean and modern but keeping atraditional english feel. My husband appreciated the free lagers as theywanted to clean the pipes!. very honest staff who found my sons ipod and kept it at reception for him. Easily accessable for a train into Manchester, large store adjacent to the hotel. Friendly staff; excellent food.Excellent service and comfort.
all reviews » a very pleasant stay. Staff very friendly and helpful. We had young children with us and the staff very were understanding. Also we are vegetarian, staff were very keen to assist us. It was our wedding night, just the stay was nice, comfortable and quiet and our room was very spacious. We ordered room service which was very nice and prompt.Staff very welcoming and helpful.Rooms very clean. Friendly, helpful staff. Choice of breakfast. the room and the staff. The hotel rooms are ok not outstanding but good value. The lounge bar service was not really good enough but ok. It is a shame because it wouldn't take much for this to be a really excellent hotel.The room was really nice and very comfortable. All facilities very clean and tidy. Staff really friendly. Food in the bar is very expnsive. ease of parking.executive room. convenient location. accessabilty. The hotel has a comfortable old-fashioned atmosphere and the staff have a relaxed air. Impersonality - no need for special treatment on this trip. Very close to the main routes for getting around Oldham. Price of internet connection. Room. very very hot and could not get it cooled down.The first room I stayed in was a bit run down, I couldn't sleep as there was an awful hum outside the room. However, I was moved to another room during the night, this room was much better. Also, the night porter was very helpful and friendly. Continental breakfast a bit plain .Toast only , no choice of other breads. Rooms rather dated, window furnishings needed attention.Could not regulate the shower and it was too hot. The room rate looks low but if you add breakfast costs at £12 to£15 based on my experience it is about £5 per night more than other similar hotels. On the other hand if service was better this would be a bargain.We booked Skyline Taxis which were recommended by the hotel to go to the MEN Arena which was fine picking us up it, we then had booked it to collect us again from the Arena, this never turned up even after 3 phonecalls to the firm - as you can imagine being stranded in the middle of Manchester not knowing the area was really frightening - would strongly recommend not using the taxi services again. Two weddings being catered for meant that we could not have an evening meal and had to go elswhere. The room was cold. The hotel clearly needs a little TLC. I saw problems like blocked sink drains, damaged wall coverings, woodwork in need of painting etc. Service was poor but was sorted as soon as staff were approached. Meals were expensive, breakfast not included and no free internet access.The bar closed at 10.30 which is not good when you have colleagues turning up at that time and the staff would not serve even a soft drink.
