The B & B would be a little difficult to find without a sat-nav. It is situated close to the town centre on the edge of the ‘Bogside’. The place is a little oasis in a sea of apartment blocks. Once in the B & B you are given a warm welcome, offered a drink then shown to you room and the host will give you helpful advice and directions to places of interest in the locality including bars and restaurants. When pressed he can even give tips on really great places to visit further afield. T.
all reviews » Joan (who runs the B&B) was very friendly and accommodating. Joan went out of her way to make our stay very enjoyable and she was very helpful in providing a map and pointing out all the bars/restaurants/shops across the city. The B&B is very close to the city (3-4mins walk) and restaurant/bars are near by. The room was very clean and spacious. The breakfast was delicious and set us up for the day. All in all, it was a great visit to Derry and when we go back, we will return to Amore B&. Bit dubious on arrival as it was tucked away in a residential area but when Joy greeted us & took us up to our room we were more than pleased. Cosy but roomy, clean, very nice ensuite with a large shower with plenty of elbow room & if the town wasn't such a great place to explore we could have just spent 24 hours on one of the dreamiest & most comfortable mattresses we slept on during our European holiday. Joy was lovely & helpful as well. In our top 5 best stays. They were very kind since the moment I made the reservation (I had to change it from a single occupancy to twin); we arrived pretty late on a rainy night and they offered to pick us up at the bus station, which was great because we ha no idea where we were going. In the little time we were there they told us everything about Derry. The room was very spacious. Great Irish breakfast included in the rate. The location is great, 5 mins walk to the centre. The very friendly person we met, Barry, was very helpful even when we turned up earlier than we had originally planned, nothing was too much trouble, the rooms and breakfast very good value. everything in Derry is a short stroll away, plenty on- street free parking a bonus too. Joan and her partner were lovely hosts, we were welcomed warmly and given lots of information about what is good to do, where's good to eat, and whats happening in town at the time. The room was lovely and cosy, breakfast was really great, and we were generally made to feel special as both of our hosts went above and beyond to give us a great stay. Also, fab location. Would've stayed longer if our time allowed. Joan and Barry were lovely, very friednly service. They were also very informative and were able to point us in the diretion of what to whilst we were in Derry. Everything was in very close walking distance. Breakfast was delicious too! Comfortable rooms with good bed & shower!. Barry and the other owner's sister were so welcoming and a pleasure to speak with. Room and bathroom were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was probably one of the best we had on our trip. Easy walking distance to the city walls,murals and waterfront. Would definitely recommend!. Location was perfect, just 3 minute walk from the walled city and not more than 10 minutes for all the other major attractions.
