Exactly as reviews say: a comfortable family-run hotel with helpful staff and excellent full English breakfast. I appreciate that hotel owner did her best to deliver twin room for us although during booking only double rooms were available. Thanks again for this! I think Railway Tavern Hotel is great choice if you want to experience London with their local people - this is real piece of England with nice English pub downstairs (with good prices and you can meet local people). all reviews » The staff were incredibly friendly. The Hotel is very well positioned with excellent links to public transport. We were using it for ease of access when going to West Ham for football and its about a 30 min walk. Excellent food outlets throughout Stratford. Very reasonable prices and large choice when using the Hotel bar. Breakfast very adequate (fresh fruit,cereal) before moving on to freshly cooked items which you can tell are all freshly prepared. Our room in the top floor was ok in terms of noise - may not be the case on 1st floor as the pub below may have live music on week-ends. We stayed at the railway tavern to go to an event at Olympic Park.Staff were especially friendly on arrival and very accommodating to our requests,including the owner Janet. The room was basic but clean and sufficient for what we needed. Breakfast was tasty and included in the price and parking a huge bonus for this location. The pub itself had a great atmosphere and fair prices for food and drink. I will recommend this hotel to everyone. The rooms were very clean and nicely updated. The owners, Tom and Jan, are unbelieivably friendly and accomodating. We will definitely stay here when we come back to London!. Exceptional hotel the owners went the extra mile in helping us organize our trip, how to get to attractions, even helping us book another hotel when they were full and we decided to stay in London another night and letting us park there again for free!!! Decent crowd in the pub downstairs, good safe parking, friendly hosts, plentiful full English breakfast. Early start if you need it. Zone 3 but easy access back to motorway. what a fantastic experience ,The check in was done in minutes, by a very competent member of staff, The accommodation was excellent, the public bar was just perfect for three lads on a football trip. You can tell how good a hotel is by its breakfast. This place had nice bacon, warm toast, runny eggs and all the tea or coffee you can drink. Wi-fi connection on rooms from 6 to 10 (at the 2nd floor) is not strong enough. The signal often get lost. Plasterboard walls, a towel hook and one towel rail in our bathroom fell out during our visit (bit typical for uk - I've lived in a similar house for 4 years in Oxford...). One can hear the busy street (old windows) but it's ok on 2nd floor. More industrial surrounding. Wifi didn't work very well in room or restaurant. Was good in other areas. Hosts have made recent tech changes and I'm sure they will improve this quickly. It was a particularly hot weekend and though we left windows open and curtains closed the room was very warm at night. Toilet system in the room was poor . We foolishly decided to stay for just one night!. The fact that we could only stay 2nights. N/A. Not much, very pleasant stay. no hairdryer in room, although if i'd asked they may have supplied one, soap dispenser didnt work and couldnt tell difference between shampoo and shower gel. other than that 10 out of 10. No food available on Saturday night which caused us to find food in nearby Westfield Shopping Centre. We could not stay an extra night. Nothing to be honest. The hotel and facilities were clean, very good bathroom excellent service. Absolutely nothing to dislike for the price. Nothing to dislike. hard to get in the hotel after 12 midnight if they forget to give you the gate pass number, could be made easier. The property is old, the room was small, both the room and the pub should be ventilated better. Hotel WiFi was not available in my room, but luckily London metropolitan WiFi was and it was surprisingly mostly usable. Beware that the sanitation uses some kind of pumps that are quite noisy, especially during the night. Value for money is very good though when we talk London. Elsewhere in Europe, this would be a 2*. lunch was rather mediocre. Traffic noise but what can you expect if you stop in London!. No dislikes!. nothing !!!. There is nothing to dislike about the Railway Tavern. Only dislike is that I couldn't stay longer. There is a pump in the toilet that is noisy and needs some get use to. Nothing. the room was clean and bed confortable but standard was of a 3 star. breakfast was ok for a 3 star, and there was no yogurts..so if you dont eat milk you need to have your cereals with water:). No dislikes. The kettle in our room didn't work unless you held down the 'on' switch. It got changed when we reported it though. Nothing. Breakfast was very disorganised.
