Location, pleasant staff. Reasonable priced food.friendly staff. Location. televison. Location was convenient for us as we were visiting relations in Woodford.The hotel might want to consider organizing a shuttle to the nearest tube and train stations. Small investment would make great improvement in accessibility. All was fine except for there was wedding reception going on downstairs and we could not fall asleep till about 3 am due to loud music. I generally think if a hotel chooses to host a party/wedding perhaps it would be wise not to have any other guests there but attendants.Still has smoking rooms. the hotel room was very cold,the radiator did not work,and i had to sit in my coat.they also had loud parties with music in the bar until 2am on both nights,i could not sleep,then there were all the drunk guests from the party shouting outside my door at 3am.this has been mentioned by other guests in the reviews,and i wish i had listened to them before making the booking.No air con in rooms. Lacks atmosphere, main bar closed at 10 pm on Saturday.Also 1st room offered was unacceptable, although changed without fuss.bedspreads with holes and badly stained, sheets not that new. Breakfasts far too expensive, should be included. Refurbishment not complete. Some parts still grubby.Very noisy as there was a wedding with loud disco and very noisy guests so limited sleep. the bathroom needed some refurbishment and the pillows were poor. The hotel was very hot, and with no air conditioning in the rooms, it was very difficult to cool them down. The rooms in the hotel are in need of an update all round. I was very upset that I had to eat in my room from the bar menu as I the restuarant was fully booked for the whole period it was open. Also continental breakfast consisted of only cereal, toast, orange juice and tea. Very poor value for the cost.smokey smelling room. Hotel was very shabby. Carpets everywhere were badly stained, especially in the room. Bedding was horrible, torn and poorly ironed. Bathroom was badly in need of up-dating. Bar area was messy and we couldn't get a drink without fetching someone to open up(Saturday night).
