Great position, you can easily reach the underground gate (linked to central, circle and district lines). The breakfast isn't the richest I've seen but, the food is good and the environment is clean. The room was clean, while the toilet was modern and comfortable. Considering prices in London, this hotel is extremely competitive. Overall, the quality/price ratio is highly satisfactory. The man on reception at the time was very friendly when I said that my room felt abit clostrophobic (as I was in the basement room) he gave me a key to another room to look at unfortunately it was on the 5th floor so I chose to stay in the basement room! Once the curtains are shut I felt right at home. Good for the price 2 minutes from queensway tube. Very comfy.
all reviews » The staff was incredibly kind and helpful. The hotel itself was in an excellent location. Easy to find and close to both Kensington Gardens, Hyde Park and the tube. There are lots of restaurants and shops nearby and the hotel was clean. We would definitely stay at Notting Hill Gate again. the hotel is near most points of attraction , the bus station 390 which takes you to oxford streen and piccadilly is just outside the hotel tube station ( notting hill gate ) is 2 minutes walk from the hotel , the staff are great very friendly and helpful , the breakfast is fair. Room 1, quirky but excellent at the same time. Plenty of space, desk, separate wc and shower rooms, bedroom & tv in another room. Great staff, very polite, very helpful. Enjoyed it so much, I'm staying there again this week!. Second time here, staff were excellent as usual, had my door ready for me before I'd even got to the reception desk. Even ordered me a take away pizza to save me the hassle! Fantastic location too. The triple room was very nice and the location is really comfortable, close to Notting Hill Gate station and several bus stops. Breakfast was included, which is always good!. Very friendly staff. The breakfast area was tiny and the food offered for breakfast unexciting. the room was very small , and had a window in the ceiling so once the sun rises which is very early the room is not dark so we woke up , plus the worst thing at the hotel was the stairs as we were in the 4th floor with no elevator so the stairs were very painful as they are very straigh which ruined my back. Poor to non-existent Wi-fi and mobile phone reception in Room 1. It's in the basement, so reception not a shock, but wi-fi could be improved. This time I had Room 21 which is on the 4th floor and there's no lift so it's a definite "no go" if you have any physical limitations. Filthy hall carpet couldn't see T.V. from bed because of wardrobe and dining room was so small it was dangerous. kitchen is so small and doesnt have much in breakfast. no lift so become difficult to go to 3rd or 4th floor when you return from a day long visit. The fact that the noise of constant slamming doors and a workman working in the opposite room went on from 6am! Meant I hardly got any sleep I would not stay at this hotel again I found the staff very unhelpful. very small shower and bed for 2 people. Bed and breakfast only. Compare to the price = not recommanded . There breakfast very cheap and it does not worth to spend the money on it . Does not compare to the more popular budget hotel chains yet it costs more. It is the equivalent of the cheaper budget hotel chains in quality but charges more than the premium ones. Staff are not trained in customer service. Also, no lifts/elevators and there are steep spiral staircases. Not fun lugging luggage up for a whole family.
