We found the staff very friendly, room was satisfactory, it was lovely having a cooked breakfast and hotel was in a good area within walking distance from Kingscross and tube stations. The friendliness and efficiency of the staff, especially at breakfast which was really good. The quality of the room and bathroom was excellent.Easy access to city centre - good starting point, pubs and restaurants very close and very easy to get to the hotel if you come via Euston. Being in the basement, with just one flight of stairs, rather than on the top floor where I understand some of the single rooms are.It was close to National Library- that was my interest , on the whole it is sisuated very well. The amazingly cheerful and helpful staff on reception. All three that I met on the front desk were briskly efficient, friendly, and pleasant to all the guests I saw them talking to. My room had recently been refurbished to a good standard. Ample breakfast, with top-ups of toast and coffee offered.Availability of free wireless internet. Convenient location. A little bit basic and noisy creaking floorboards.The double bed was a little on the small side. There was an unexpected 'cold snap' during my stay. Despite hot radiators, my room was very cold at night. However, warm bedding was provided and this problem did not spoil my stay.Staff weren't particularly friendly. Bed was really hard! TV did not work but gentleman on reception was very helpful and it was repaired.The room above ours had very creaky floor boards. Every step of the person above could be clearly and loudly heard. The shower temperature was only warm despite the tap in the basin running hot. Also it would be welcome to have a vegetarian option on the breakfast menu. Fittings in shower looked good but were of a low grade and will need replacement often. Not possible to have a shower in the morning as the hotel was full and the system could not cope with demand. The system worked but only very early in the morning and after later after breakfast. Receptionist suggested leaving tap on for 10 mins, even that was not enough.Old building so could be a little noisey, creaky floorboards from above! Lots of stairs, ok for us but not good if mobility limited. Breakfast menu on table unclear, could do with a revamp. there isn't any lift, the bathroom was small but it was clean.the windows of the room did not closed (very very old). In great need of maintenance ! fixtures and fittings - not building !. There were no towels in he room when we arrived. At breakfast i requested a poached egg. The lady did not really understand but went off to get one. After waitining I then asked again and was told by a fdifferent person that they did not do poached egg. All the bread was white. Very bad for your health. The only one point I didn't like was being told I had to be out of the hotel room as quickly as possible in the morning due to the fact that they were renovating - I didn't check out til 11am as I was allowed, but twice I had workmen knock on my door. Aside from that, I had absolutely no problems with the hotel - I've stayed there before and I'll definitely stay there again when I go back to London!. The breakfast staff with one exception very rude and high handed. No. It was value for money and well situated. The room, whilst clean was noisy (traffic from outside), the windows were not double-glazed and did not shut properly. The only thing wrong was the shower was usless.It is shabby. Cupboard door would not stay closed. No common space. Dining room in basement so not particularly pleasant. Narrow stairs; lucky we didn't have large luggage. The room was in the basement and had a neon light shining in the window until 11pm at night. bathroom.

From Heathrow Airport:
Take London Underground (the Tube) via the Piccadilly Line to Russell Square.

From Gatwick Airport:
Take the train to King's Cross (Thameslink Direct service) or take the National Rail service direct to London Victoria. At Victoria, take the Tube via the Victoria Line to either Euston or King's Cross.

From Luton Airport:
The airport bus takes you to Luton Airport Parkway where you can catch a train to King's Cross Thameslink or to London St Pancras (slightly nearer the hotel).

From Stansted Airport:
Take the Stansted Express to Tottenham Hale and change to the Tube (Victoria line) to Euston. Alternatively you can take the Stansted Express to Liverpool Street and take either take a taxi, or the Tube to King's Cross.

Parking:
If you are driving to the hotel, you should know that you may park overnight outside the hotel on weekdays from 18:30 to 08:30. At weekends, the period is from 13:30 on Saturday to 08:30 on Monday morning. There are also various car parks in the vicinity.
