Very nice location, on the edge of the congestion zone. Parking was available in a non-associated parking house about two blocks away. The tower and tower bridge and the river is about 10-15 minutes walk. Room was clean, everything in order. Ac is great and sound isolation from the street noises worked perfectly. Restaurant/bar in the hotel was nice, but busy. Friendly, helpful staff on reception and in restaurant; compact but perfectly appointed room (great attention to design detail); very close to overground (10 mins) and tube trains (2 mins round corner) - direct tube from Paddington, Kings Cross/St Pancras, Liverpool St. Loved the compact but comfortable room with plug sockets in all the right places!.
all reviews » I was attending the Royal Occasion at Westminster Abbey, then enjoying family history research, as my Great Grandmother was born in Chamber St in 1843. Ibis London City is an excellent location for easy links with both Central London and the "influentially different" East End. A super stay! Thanks. It was a great hotel, clean, very comfy bed, it was and is a great no frills hotel that has everything you need unless you look gir lucury. Easy access with buses and tube and a 10 mins walk from Liverpool street. Easy and efficient check in and out with friendly staff. Will stay there again. Location was ideal as directly around the corner from Aldgate East tube. Spittlafields and Brick Lane lest than 5 mins walk. Art galleries, bars and restaurants close by 10 mins tube to West End. Good hotel bar we were able to relax with a good reasonably priced bottle of wine and a pizza,. This hotel was ideally located to the underground just around the corner. The hotel was clean and the beds very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing for the price, so much choice and the cooked breakfast was lovely and all included in the price. We would definitely go back next time we visit. very well positioned. very close to tube, walking distance to Tower Bridge. Good links to London City Airport. On site restaurant is quite good, and lots of different ethnic Middle East, Asian restaurants closeby. Good markets closby - although I didn't get the chance to visit. Location of hotel very central in London Underground Station just round the corner of the hotel. Bags in baggage room kept by the hotel during my check out day while i got to explore the city a bit more. Great value for money Will be staying there again in the near future. The bed was comfy, the room was great with an interesting view across the city. Tea/Coffee available along with a hairdryer, always useful. Bathroom was funky/bizarre however one of the best showers I have ever had. Breakfast was great although at £9 a little top heavy. This is for London a very good choice: clean, comfortable rooms, good beds, good bathroom, soundproof. Queue to check in and although hotel booking in my name receptionist insisted on addressing my husband and not me even to the point of handing him back my credit card. Nothing everything was perfect. Not much not to like. London prices and room sizes - but that's London. This hotel is great for visiting London. No iron and the loo didn't flush that well. Our shower didn't work, although when we contacted reception, the issue was resolved very quickly. The internet connection is very poor, and I think it would be reasonable to have "free-wifi" in the hotel rooms we payed for. The Underground Station had no escalators or elevators but that is not really the fault of the hotel, but good to know for travellers coming with heavy luggage. There is construction going on right next door that kept me awake on a weekend. Again not the fault of the hotel, but maybe they could install sound-proof windows. The door on the "pod" bathroom was almost impossible to close, you needed to use both hands and pull with all your strength, resulting in a very loud bang. Not much fun for person sharing room or next door rooms!. I like to have a safe in my hotel room. I dislike handing over essential items to anyone, including reception. Thin mattresses. We were offered to stay with friends four days before arrival, but they wouldn't let us cancel the reservation (we were told so upon booking, so bottom line our mistake). Expensive breakfast (but cheep restaurants around the corner). Breakfast lay out was a bit confusing, mainly because I was looking for a table that had been laid. No problem but a bit of guidance might have been helpful, a brief explanation of the arrangements would have been good. The price is very expensive considering the stars and the layout of the hotel but aligned with the standard of London. Nothing. Bathrooms. Not terrible, but basically a low cost portable structure installed in the room. Nothing to dislike, it was as expected. No negatives. Nothing. For long stays it is quite far from the center but it is close to 3 tube stations and you can arrange very well. Unfortunately demolition of a block of flats /offices was being undertaken with appropriate noise on the Friday when we arrived, but quiet on the Saturday and Sunday. However the noise had resumed on the Monday morning, but we left soon afterwards. However, with further demolition and buildings to replace, this will no doubt continue for a few years yet. drainage of the shower was cloggend, flushing toilet gave some problems. A lot of dust under the bed. Charging for wifi on your own device. Swipe keys for the room kept failing. Nothing. The noise from heating system in room 934. Nothing. Neighbour noise. Chambermaid knocking at 8.30 in morning to see if room free. Bed wasn't very comfy. Had a mattress topper on it. Sheets weren't best quality. nothing. Nothing.
