The nice spacious rooms and the service. staff were child friendly. room was clean, pleasant and warmer (very much necessary) as stated on the website. My stay was pleasant for the amount of money I paid, I was expecting a lot less to be honest. I called early and they let my check in an hour before check in time. The hotel was closely located to the tube station, very convenient. The bed was comfortable and i felt clean sleeping in it! The staff at breakfast were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was small but good!.

For the value of the money, I would give a 9+ out of 10. Because of the cars, that are going very close to windows, you can hear the noise all night long. The room was clean, the reception staff was nice and helpful, the hotel is near the tube station, there is a Tesco supermarket very near, near lots of bars and pubs which offer all day british breakfast, just 2 stops away from Brixton Academy. There is good wi-fi connection. . I stayed in a room faced with main streets and it has a lot of noise from the street over the night......so I couldn't have slept on the first night.....it would be better to put double-glazing window for the rooms facing main street......... The location was very good.It was funny. Easy to find. management accomodating re changing your booking, staying on for an extra night etc. Also a very good location - close to bus, tube, pubs, retaurants, shops, banks, park, etc. Sheets were clean and clean towels. I willstart by saying that you get what you pay for and this wasn't a perfect hotel. The room was small and the walls were very thin, you could hear everything! The shower was also very small and had cold water. If you turn the cold water in the sink on while you shower it is fine! . it was hot this night and there was not any air coming through. The TV was not working.No hot water!. Room a bit dirty, but having lived in India I did not really mind!. Bad sound insulation of rooms - conversation of neighbours from otherrooms is audible. There is no lift and it is very difficult to risewith luggage. Breakfast, not worth offering. Smell of smoke in bedroom. Even though the hotel has adopted a no smoking policy it was evident from the cigarette stubs in the planters on the window ledge that the previous guests had been smokers. We were given an air freshner spray to try and mask the smell. The duvet cover was torn around the seams, maybe they could do with replacing?. wall paper and curtains falling off! didnt like paying extra for a bathroom!. The breakfast could be better as it was only toasts and cereal. The breakfast room staff wasn't very nice. I said to the lady there was a hair in the milk and she would just remove the hair with a spoon. She was lucky it was me she was talking to, another person would have put a complaint. The room toilet door didn't have a knob and we had to close it using a folded tube map as a wedge between the door and the frame. The shower doors wouldn't close either (we used the same technique for them). . It was a bit dirty and I wasn't sure about having a wired in hairdryer over the sink.It felt a little unclean.......ripped bedding, unpainted walls, thin walls, kept awake by people thumping on the floor above and loud talking next door , breakfast was a little bleak, not enough tables comfortably, and I was sure that full cooked breakfast was offered...?. breakfast is poor - not even a choice of white or brown bread. Rooms are shabby, and the showers are sometimes so cramped, that they could be quite dangerous to get in and out of if you weren't particularly agile.Could not open window. Felt insecure as access from street was possible if someone climbed down from street level. Breakfast. Please include some wholewheat either in cereals, or offer brown bread.Both non expensive healthier choices. Bathroom old and unsightly. Breakfasi was very poor. Limescale at the hot water container should be clean. Toaster shoud be fixed.the window in the hotel wouldnt shut properly and is was very cold on the first nite , the next monrning the lad that was serving breakfast asked how we were so I told her about the window she said she would tell the manager but nothing was done so the second nite I managed to keep the window closed with a scew and chain that was attatched to it. We did like:the size of the room,the lack of reasonable closet for our laggege,the poor continental breakfast.Ubfriendly staff, furnishings average, cereal and toast described as"continental breakfast". Rooms , poor decor , Tvs old , do not work properly. Very ordinary... reflects low price. The cleaniness of the room was so poor. I just felt that the dust was everywhere (carpet, blanket ect). They had full details of my card used to book the hotel including all the security codes and were saying they do not destroy the details, as far as I know this is a legal requirement not to hold full card details. The manager was very unhelpful and insistant that he wants to keep these details despite me paying for the room in full. This concerns me as he has everything he needs to use my card!. Water was cold on evening of arrival, mould in shower, staff directed us to wrong flight of stairs, climbed 3 flights before finding this out. Only 1 tea bag got 2 people. It was not very clean and the wallpaper was falling off in our room,which was in the attic with no lift.well i have many things i would not appricitate happening..... first of all the greeting was not very pleasent and would have apprciated a more friendly greeting. secondly when we got into the room the light made an awful noise when you turned it on lasting for a good 20 seconds... the bathroom was a shambles with a dirty shower and the towel rail came off in my hands when i placed a towel on... The room was dirty and very dull. The shower was very dirty and very badly maintained. Room is crap. Big hole in the bed didn't have a good night sleep at all, fell inside the hole for a couple of times^_^ lol walls are too thin and bathroom tiles all fell out. room next to kitchen lots of early morning noise. breakfast was poor and staffing was poor. The iron mark on the floor and the smoke alarms being in different bits in the kitchen. Also the strange smell as you walked up the stairs.Did not like the staff. the services attitude of the staff really bad. Bathroom very small and dirty. Room very dirty. Dirty room, poor breakfast, very small ensuite, no lift. My room had no thermostat on the radiator and was seriously hot even with the window wide open! I asked if they had a way to turn it down and was told was "no".I asked to change rooms and was moved next door. Where the box spring on the bed was broken as I sat in a sucken bed. They had no other rooms and was only fixed after I took a knob of another radiator and used it to turn my radiator down!. No plug in sink, no kettle - had to ask, fan did not work, tiny window 18" square, no ventilation, no tea or coffe in room - had to ask, trouser press did not work.The state of the room - particularly the shower. Old building just covered up with lots of white color to look better, old furniture, terrible mattress, hairdryer and night light not working, everything in the room was dusty and dirty, poor breakfast (just cornflakes, toast and jam)...Dirty, hard bed, bathroom door didnt open the full way because the it hit the toilet. The room was unclean, the bathroom had chewing gum on the floor and all towels were dirty. It was full of broken and dirty items, and the bedsheets were all revolting full of dirt and stains. The idea that they kept the key and fully allowed us to pick it up without ID lead me to believe that anyone could have picked up the key with no problems. The place was vile!. Very poorly maintained, very dirty, was woken up at 4:30am by people having sex in the corridor outside our room. Where do I start? Filthy, unhelpful, rude staff, health and safetyissues abounding-couldn't use the shower it was so filthy. The worstLondon hotel I've ever had the misfortune to stay in. I'm a regulartraveller to London so I do know what the standards are and this dumpdoesn't even hit the bottom rung.
