I purposely chose this budget hotel as it was conveniently situated close to Kings Cross Station as I was taking the Eurostar to Paris. There was no lift in the hotel, however my case was carried for me to my bedroom and also on the day I left. Being 76 yrs of age this was much appreciated as my case was heavy. The whole package, short walk from the train station, friendly and helpful staff, clean and comfortable. Bargain for the price.
all reviews » It is extremely clean,and another bonus, you only have to make 30 steps from Kings Cross Station underground to the hotel!. The welcome was very warming and meeting the little scotty,I was treated very well and will certainly use the Hotel again. nice staff, willing to take care of bags extra time. The hotel is very conveniently situated near to mainline railway stations, the British library and the British Museum. Nice experience and very close to St Pancras which was brilliant for me to catch the Eurostar the following morning.the position where the hotel was brilliant . kings cross underground was over the road and london euston was a five minute walk too . Too early.They should finish at at least at 10 or later.I was on the top floor.Four floors,the information did not state this.I did not mind, but a more unfit person might have had difficulty.Narrow, steep staircases. everything was fine but if I have to give one less thing is was the tv. only 5 channels and very bad quality.Shower was pretty awful. I would liked it more if a had a better b'fast. The b'fast was abit pour.The curtains in the room need to be renewed and would benefit from being better fitted to cover the windows. If you check in later than 7pm, you can not find an overnight carpark, however after 8pm you can leave your car on the single yellow outside until 8am - when you can then gain access to one of the long stay carparks that are only a few minutes walk.the breakfast was ok but would have liked something bit more filling than just cereal and toast . The breakfast offered was very poor, very plain. We skipped it after the first day to eat at the McDonald's on the corner.Room I stayed in was actually in the attic and the stairs were quite daunting. A bedside light would of been beneficial. A labrinth of stairs and small corridors from attic to breakfast room in the basement . Unfriendly (female) receptionist when I arrived. The room was very small. Breakfast was poor. room above was very noisy. Nothing I didnt like but would like the option of a cooked breakfast. no phone in room. the bathroom was terrible.no phone in room. better food will be a plus. My room was situated in the lower ground floor and as a lone woman I felt vulnerable and would have been more comfortable in a room in the main part of the hotel. Perhaps when allocating rooms this may be taken into consideration in future although I do understand the difficulties of anticipating peoples needs - it was quiet and others may have enjoyed the solitude. Sitting in the breakfast room one morning, talking, it was only 9:15 the lights were switched of and on again and the lady in the kitchen was angry saying that breakfasttime was over. This could have been done very easy and nicely by just asking us to leave instead of this hostile gesture.
