The staff were all very helpful especially the lady on reception. I came with my Dad and his mobility is limited but nothing was to much trouble. Fortunately he had a room on the ground floor. This was very helpful for him. I want to thank you for doing that. I have booked a double room in February for my Mum & myself as a surprise and hope we have a pleasurable stay too. The staff's manners, friendliness and their overall willingness to please clients. Excellent customer service, and every morning we looked forward to breakfast where the young ladies were available to make toast and assist but stood back politely. What lovely manners! clean and every day room service was excellent ! many small touches that show that the customer is valued!.
all reviews » I've stayed at the hotel before, but had stopped going there as it was under new management, and was becoming a bit 'run down'. I noticed on their web site that it been refurbished and decided to give it another try. The renovations have made a big improvement to the facility, and I was pleased with the outcome. Much more comfortable. While there is no lift the staff on duty helped us to carry our large heavy bags upstairs. The staff were always very helpful & courteous especially in the breakfast room. Fantastic location in a quiet street one block from the bus stop & underground Station with express train to Heathrow. Would stay there again. The staff were generally friendly and helpful, and I was pleasantly surprised by the variety in the continental breakfast. The location was also great - just a couple minutes walk to Paddington Station and a short walk to Hyde Park. I liked the location and the fact that my room and bathroom were very clean and serviced daily. The bed was comfortable too. I cannot think of anything to highlight. the room we had (3 single beds) was tiny, and the bathroom was a tight fit! if you are a tall or Xlarge person I would enquire if all bathrooms are a tight fit!. The bathroom was tiny - you can't stand up and shut the door, but this is not entirely unusual for a budget hotel in a big city. It could also be a bit noisy - people going up and down stairs, shutting doors, running water. The breakfast was basic and my room was small. Over-large basins in the bathroom meant going to the loo was awkward, but good power shower. Wooden floors made it noisy, as did paper-thin walls. Minor faults as it was excellent value for money. No. A male receptionist that didn't meet my eye. A somewhat soulless appearance to the reception. 'Basic' doesn't have to be without character. Most of all, it should be welcoming. Nothing. A small bottle of spring water in room would have been nice. It was a box room with the most cramped toilet / shower. Sitting on toilet meant my head was touching the sink. It was on the 4th floor of very steep stairs. There was no desk to put things on, they should have had at least a coat hook on the back of the door. The floor was sloped. But it was warm and dry and clean, and you get what you pay for. £50 for bed and breakfast, I would stay there again. We were on the third floor and it was a bit of a trek, since there was no lift. The bathroom was really small and hard to move around in. Our room 209 suffers from a noise problem. In the wall adjacent to the bed head there a pump which at peak water usage time frequently(very) cuts in and out. Management seemed surprised to learn of the issue and offered to relocate us from the 2nd to the 4th floor After thr 1st night as we only had 3 we stayed put as other guests said the steps get steeper and we had heavy luggage.We didn't require an alarm clock. The hot water to the shower took a very long time to run hot and the bathroom smelt very damp. Bathroom was a little small, but for the price we paid not a problem. No lift! Room was very warm and could not turn radiator off. Breakfast was below the expectation. Shower rather compact, no bedside light. No lift to 3rd floor up small stairs. Absolutely tiny bathroom-a bedside light would have been useful too but good price for London. there was no lift you had to use the uneasy stairs. Because rooms are close together pick up a lot of noise from rooms above or connected. We weren't told our room was four floors up....my mum fell down one flight of stairs on her way to breakfast. Also no hot water in the morning. not a lot. Rooms are small. No complaints. Simple breakfast. Room was very small. breakfast (no vegetables) noise. closet bathroom was the issue can't use the stool with the sink on my face. Stairs to go up do the room. Lack of wifi connection. Hotel is reported to have it. Have stayed before. Not had a connection so far. Room and bathroom extremely small but OK for one night. It was still under the construction. no hot water before 8am. there is only one socket available in the room, it is really inconvenient.Small rooms Sheets weren't changed during an 11 night visit. nothing. lots of stairs, no lift was on the top floor, room small. The room is very very small and there is no AC inside the room. Extremely smaller bathroom. Room on 4th floor and no lift. Room & bathroom very small. WiFi working only in lobby. Four flights of narrow stairs with no lift or assistance with baggage; no internet connection in the room; lack of space in room and bathroom; arrogant make reception manager on second day and poor coffee at breakfast.
