The apartment is an ideal base for large groups. As a family of 5 we had booked the 3 bedroomed apartment and were surprised to find one double bedded room plus 2 very large triple bedded rooms (slight dormitory feel to them!). The apartment was recently refurbished with good kitchen facilities (cooker/ microwave/ fridge/ toaster etc as well as a washing machine). It was clean and warm, and quiet most of the time. The apartment was within easy walking distance of town and a taxi cost just over.
all reviews » Colin made contact with me on check in day and was very helpful when I became stuck in traffic and was going to arrive late. All the apartment basics were available such as tea, coffee, salt & pepper etc. nicely decorated and good central heating which had temperature control. Quiet location and easy to find as it is signposted. I booked two apartments for the group and we were given ones that were opposite each other in the corridor. Very pleased with the stay and will probably use them ag. I loved the location and parking. when I went in Collin was a great guy and greeted me and my wife and showed us around provided us with attractions of the city and always was friendly and offered help. the facilities were great everything you need to have a relaxing break. was clean and fresh always. I would definitely stay here again and the only place i would stay when i go back as I love the accommodation and staff. Thanks Collin and Mays house for a great stay. The apartment was brand new, tastefully furnished and well equipped. We were met by the owner who was very welcoming and gave us useful info on where to go along with taxi numbers etc. Couldn't have asked for better and will def be returning and will recommend to friends. Was only a short walk to Albert Dock and the main shopping areas, ideal that you can leave the car at the apartment at no charge. Great value for money. We couldn't fault the frindliness and helpfulness of the staff, particularly Thomas who went out of his way to ensure that our trip to Liverpool was a truly enjoyable and memorable experience. The apartment was spacious and the standard of cleanliness was excellent. It was ideally located for the concerts we had booked and for the sights we had planned to see. Everything about May's House was exceptional. We stayed in the Penthouse and it had everything we required for our stay. Flat Screen Tv, showers and bath, fitted kitchen, the whole apartment was spotless. 7 of us stayed there but it would easily sleep a lot more. Definite value for money and would stay again. Taxi into town approx £3.50 through local cab firm. Colin the host was very friendly to deal with and really down to earth. Its situated less than 20mins walk from the city centre so was perfect location. Clean, fresh and new apartments, really good value for money, definately would stay again when we come back to Liverpool :). I was impressed well before the time I got there. Received a text from the manager well before my arrival to welcome us, was touched by this gesture. very considerate and helpful knowing the fact i did not know Liverpool. I would certainly go there next time. Very nice staff, the apartment was overall quite nicely furnished. The kitchen included the basics like pots, washing up liquid etc.; the walk into the city centre was not too long and there was a supermarket nearby as well. And the free WiFi was a big plus!. The staff where very friendly, helpful and polite. Always willing to help with any questions about area, taxi's etc which was much appreciated. Had a great stay would love to return in summer to get use of the balcony area. Thanks guys for everything. This new self catering block has just started up and is brand new. Good location within easy walking distance of Chinatown and l1. I needed some scanning and printing done before a meeting and Colin couldn't have been more helpful. Will be back. The apartment we had was brand new and the establishment had only been open a matter of weeks. Colin the owner could not have been more helpful. Close walk to Albert dock and into the city for that matter.parking is right out front and is free.Mays House was very new and spacious, the staff couldn't do enough for you, Thomas even gave us a lift into town to save us money in a taxi, I will definitely be back to Mays House hopefully next month. Thanks for everything. could not of asked for more, was a 10 min walk from town, its on a main bus route to Anfield.and theres a chippy right next door I can not wait for my next trip to the city and will be sure to check with may's house first. The staff were really helpful waited for our arrival then helped with our luggage too the apartment when they found out it was my hen party they even brought up a banner for the room the apartment is great value for money. Good location walking distance from the city and the river/docks but quiet at night. Free parking outside the apartment. Very nice, helpful staff. Two bathrooms. free wifi, Clean, comfortable. Although there was a lot of space the living area was comparatively small (the small dining table only seated 4). Also there was only 1 combined toilet/ bathroom though lots of potential space for a second (probably more of an issue for larger groups). Although the apartment has been recently refurbished, it could do with some finishing touches to make it more homely - e.g, coat hooks/ shoe rack in the hallway/ bedroom curtains in the triple rooms/ a hairdryer. Niggles more than major issues. Not enough towels for everyone staying although this was sorted the next day when Colin came back to the apartments. Lots of noise from occupants in the apartments above us. No bad points at all. We would have preferred off-street parking, but there was no problem with getting a parking place immediately outside the apartment building. The only thing I can say is that we only had 1 key (but we didnt ask for another) and as there was 7 of us it meant we always had to arrange times with each other when we were coming back to the apartments. Unfortunately, the shower was extremely wonky, and the bar that holds the shower head in place kept falling off the wall. Also, there was no table or chairs, so meals had to be eaten on the sofa. Nothing other than not being able to staff longer due to work commitments. Nothing. Noise insulation between floors is non-existent, meaning every footstep can be heard from above. Request a room on the top floor. Shower too small although adequate. I would personnly like to see a bigger TV with Sky Sports CChannels ! But Thats Just me ... Nothing! Although some people may not like being out of town, but you can walk to the Albert Docks in 15 minutes. Taxis cost between £5 and £8. Nothing. the only negative I can say is that the boiler was noisy but did not spoil our stay at all. the sofa was uncomfortable while watching TV. Although apartment for 8 there were only dining chairs for 6 - did advise staff Only basic equipment included - few additional items would be good eg wine glasses. nothing. Shower not very powerful No Sky TV. No internet in the room. They took payment from credit card a week before even though I requested to pay with debit card Due to the area need to get a taxi to central Liverpool. Location abit far from city. Soundproofing. 1) heating system was poor. Apt and building cold all the time 2) kitchen utensils to cook are inappropriate 3) distance quite far to shops to buy groceries. Nothing to add, other than value for money was appalling, im in total disbelief at all the positive comments i read. I can only imagine they paid less than we did and were not in earshot of those idiots above us. No table to eat meal. Wireless service very intermittent. TV impossible to watch at peak time. Heating difficult to control.
