Hoax Liverpool is a uniquely designed hostel set in the heart of the vibrant Liverpool city centre. It is situated on the corner of Stanley Street and Mathew Street, an area made famous by The Beatles. The hostel has a 24-hour front desk, a bar and restaurant and individual lockers. Alternatively, guests can prepare their own meals in the shared kitchen. In the mornings, tea and coffee, along with toast, butter, and jam are provided. The property also offers a variety of home cooked breakfasts and continental breakfast options which are available for an additional charge. The on-site live music venue, The Hatch also has frequent music acts on show. The staff were helpful, room was nice, kitchen was fully equipped, perfect location, brilliant value for money, breakfast included in price, free computers/internet, stayed in 6 bed dorm and was very happy with the shared shower/toilet, towels provided, interior was not hostel like -more like a hotel, everything was great!. we were a loud enough bunch of lads playing loud music 90% of the time and didn't have one complaint from the extremely friendly staff. they didn't seem to mind us bringing home "strays" and they also met all of our requests (to an extent) and also they had no problem with us missing the check out time on our last day.
all reviews » I have been solo backpacking through Ireland and the UK, staying in all sorts of hostels and hotels -- Hoax Liverpool was by far my favorite of the trip. The price, cleanliness, modern facilities, and AWESOME location really take it to the next level. If you are backpacking in Liverpool, get your ass to this hostel!. Extremely clean. Perfectly organized. Individual plugs and light for everyone. Fast and free wifi everywhere. Every night planned activities in the breakfast Lounge. In the city centre. All the shops within a grasp. Modern design. A must stay place for people who love hostels. I was there for two nights only, but what I can say is that you will not find anything better for that price! Location and cleanliness 11 out of 10. Staff 10 out of 10 (didn't deal with them much). Facilities and comfort 9 out of 10. Totally recommend it!!!. Staff were brilliant - having the facilities to eat etc next door was very handy. I was never one for bunk beds but it served its purpose :). Room was very clean. couple of more pillows next time!!! Breakfast was simple but more than adequate, toast, cereals, yogurt, tea, coffee or juice. Just brilliant. its new and clean and they provide simple breakfast & coffee (cereals and toast to get you started in the morning). The staff are very helpful and friendly as well. This hostel is located in Matthew street where is famed for The Beatles. And there are nice places to visit near the property like Liverpool One shopping centre, Albert dock and so forth. In the middle of all the party in Liverpool, also close to the main places to visit. Tasty breakfast, and clean rooms, just 10 minutes walking from the coach station. Excellent place. Internet was perfect, could access it from all corners of the hostel. Breakfast was modest but cool. Price was cheap as well and location in the heart of the city was perfect!. Because of perfect location (center of clubbing in Liverpool) the level of noise is compromised. If you would like to cook for yourself the kitchen may be tiny bit disappointing. Totally recommend it!!!. Just a bit to close to the nightlife so the noise was a bit loud. It is just off Mathew Street so seemingly there always loud music in play. I have no problem with it but if you're a light sleeper, the earbuds they provided in the reception desk won't help much :). Hehe my electronic key had a little problem, but can happen, at least it was funny moments at reception... :D. Nightclubs just over road so get a lot of noise during the night (and this was a Monday!) so if your a light sleeper you probs won't get much sleep!. Room was a bit small for 4 girls to get ready in but nothing that we couldn't manage, nor did it stop us :). nothing. It can get noisy at night because of the clubs nearby but with good earplugs it's fine. My suggestions for this hostel: invest in curtains on every bed in the dorm rooms, lock the luggage room downstairs, change breakfast (very basic and disappointing) - rather have a small but quality item instead, e.g. 1 glass of orange juice + croissant with cheese or ham OR bagel OR omelette etc. This would be more in line with the quality of the accommodation. Being on the 4th floor, with both the lifts broken was tough at times, especially after the night out. The room was very tiny, I would not recommend the room to anyone who is frightened of closed spaces. Between 4 adults we found it difficult to get ready all the same time, because the floor space was limited. Not having a window in the room made it very warm too. Bar closes to early in the week. lack of info on website advising closest or cheapest car parks. Nothing really comes to mind. Nothing!. toilet was stuck everyday so I couldn't use toilet in my room. noise from pubs below on Matthew street Breakfast was limited choice (toast but no butter!). When i checked in the check in staff where very brief, just pointed me un a ditection of my room. Didn't tell me anything about where the breakfast where or other facilities. And the hostel where kind of a labyrinth, difficult to find the exit. the price of the coffee in the bar was extortionet. - breakfast was poor. Fire alarm kept going off. Obviously no fault of the hostel staff. could faintly here the nearby clubs through the night. Everything is perfect. A little tight in the quad but manageable. no kettle in the room!!!! tv remote didnt work, continental breakfast is rubbish!!. Because of the location, it was super noisy, we were in a party mood and didn't care but this is important for everyone to know that the music and the noise are super loud. Top bunks were too high from floor had to take mattress onto floor. Maybe a little more of a range of breakfast foods, but everything was still excellent!. Nothing really.

Group bookings are subject to a 10% deposit to be paid at the time of booking. The balance must be paid within 28 days of arrival and the names of all guests must be provided.
