This was a last minute booking for me and what a choice. The hotel had everything, great location, modern, friendly staff, good food and drinks, good leisure centre. Lets just make one thing clear this is not a Spa, it is a hotel and conference centre with leisure facilities. The greeting on arrival was very friendly and checking in was quick and easy. The room was excellent, clean, warm and quite large. The leisure centre had a good Gym, with more than adequate jet pool, Jacuzzi and sauna. Bre.
all reviews » Lovely location (20 minutes from Stratford) and beautiful building and surrounding scenery. The breakfast was very good and the staff in the restaurant were very professional. The lady on the reception desk Sunday morning was very friendly, totally unlike my welcome the night before. Good quality TV in the room. The shower is very powerful and there was a bath too. In general, the communal areas of the centre looked very fresh and modern. If a weekend in that country is what you want, then this is the perfect getaway. The lovely buildings is set in magnificent grounds and is the perfect country hideaway, and yet close to attractions such as Warwick Castle. The food at the restaurant was superb and wonderfully priced and the concierge, Trish, had wonderful information on the local area and attractions. I wish we had been able to stay longer. Good price for a Saturday night stay near Leamington Spa / Stratford / Warwick. Polite staff, pleasant clean room although room was set up for solo occupant rather than couple - odd as a king size room booked? Restaurant food very nice and restaurant waiters/ waitresses very polite and helpful. The most friendliest receptionist I have ever met - she was so lovely and chatty. A real credit to the hotel. The gym equipment was of a very high standard, and all other faciliities oh an equally high standard. Free WiFi, 5 mins drive to the town centre and 5 minutes from major A road. Loved the atmosphere right from the gate. A lovely serene environment tucked away and not hard to find coming off the motoway. Staff were very pleasant from thd desk to the restaurant. Good food too. From the moment I walk in the staff were very friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble and I was even shown to the lift in person. Woodland setting - very peaceful and yet convenient for nearby Leamington Spa. Facilities are great, exactly what I was after as having to stay up in Warwick for work, only wish I'd tried it earlier. Room being set up for single occupant, restaurant very expensive (but food was good and staff very polite). Location made eating elsewhere impossible without driving. This meant you were tied to eating at the Hotel if you wanted to Drink with your meal. Nothing - fantastic hotel. Room got almost unbearably hot, although it was provided with a fan, not sure it really did the job. Location requires a car to get around the area. There was very little not to like! A couple of the loos in the public areas got blocked during busy conference/training days - perhaps regular checks of loos? Maybe a bell on the bar, as it sometimes wasn't manned. pillows too small; problem with billing. Double room only equipped for one person. Carpet in the room not swept. Hotel is a conference centre and is doubtless good for businessmen but I did not feel it really catered for private travellers. single bed,normally all 3/4 in hotels now.I have half a knee replacement and fell out of bed in the night as it was narrow,It took me 20mins to get myself up as i cannot get up from a floor position.I bruised both knees,and they were very painful for several days,not a good experience. The lighting in room was primitive with no bedside lamp and unable to open room window so not a bit of fresh air .other than that all good x. Food a little expensive. The Complimentary coffee machines were on the too cool side as was that served in the resterant at breakfast. Nothing in particular springs to mind!. No swimming pool. N/a. The room was not as clean as I would have expected. There was dust behind the tv and cobwebs at the top of the windows. Bathroom tiles needed a good clean. Other than that the room was good and comfortable.. car needed. My room location was above the service area and so from 5am I was disturbed by the sounds of the breakfast being prepared and various other deliveries/activity. Next time I will ask for another room. No towels in my room man on reception was clearly a stand in as booking in was poor but checkout excellent. Spa not open at 1700. The bed was not very comfortable and very noisy - headboard was loose. Needs a litte colour to the place ( everything was painted bright white ) nothing wrong with the clean white look but a splash of colour would soften things abit. Room slightly tired - but all being updated so should be even better next time. Chip / small mark in bottom of bath, but I expect baths will be replaced in refurbishment?. Sauna temperature was too low (60 deg) - I know I should have just have someone adjust it for me, but in my honest opinion, it should be possible for the sauna user to do it himself - within a certain, predefined safe temperature range. Nothing to put toiletries on in shower, no ledge or shelf, everything had to stay in the floor. Glass in room, don't like drinking out of a plastic beaker. lack of facilities. No swimming pool or gym. A proper Lounge area for relaxing. Room a little small but no complaints at price. The only complaint was the noisy ventilation in bathroom which ran on too long. Our room was set up for one and when we requested a 2nd cup etc the cup was the only thing they did not bring. The staff were extremely kind and helpful. It would have been nice to have known about the half-board offer. Only one bedside table but we managed quite well. The radiator in my room did not work and the windows were draughty. The spa was disappointing. At 8pm the sauna was at best warm and the hot tub barely hot. Apparently because of a shortage of staff the timers which need setting every 4 hours weren't set. It was supposed to be one of the highlights of my stay. Too much sport on the tv in the bar. Unfortunately I didn't find an euro-plug in my bedroom to connect my laptop.
