  One of the most peaceful hotels we have ever stayed in, set in rural North Yorkshire on the edge of the North York Moors, with a large and quiet garden. We received a friendly welcome and were well looked after during our stay. The hotel had a very 'old fashioned' feel about it which was delightful, and a welcome contrast to impersonal corporate... what people say » style hotels so often encountered. The food was very good, and appeared to have been fresh and locally sourced, but fell a little short of gourmet. - The food was excellent. Peaceful and quiet. Location wonderful - could walk out onto Rosedale Moor, very convenient. The visit to Lastingham Church and famous crypt was superb.

  The room was as described, clean and tidy. The staff were great and very welcoming. We only stayed one night before moving further North but I would have been more than happy to have stayed longer should my trip of needed it. We actually ate at The Moors Inn at night and the food was excellent, as was breakfast the following morning. I cannot ... what people say » recommend highly enough. - Staff very nice and friendly, english breakfast was lovely. Bedroom had everything we needed and bed very comfortable. Drive up to the Inn saw a tawny owl, badger, rabbits and sheep all over the place. Ten minutes away in Pickering had the best Indian Cuisine I have ever tasted.

  We have just returned from a wonderful Bank Holiday weekend at the Blacksmiths Country Inn. An exquisite 'get away from it all' Hotel situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty..pefectly located to access some of North Yorkshires finest scenery. The grounds and the hotel itself are immaculately kept. We had the garden rooms with patio which... what people say » were quite simply idyllic, impeccably clean, fresh and decorated to a very high standard. The breakfasts and evening meals, and the dining areas were - All the staff were really friendly, polite and helpful. Even though it was our first visit, they all made you feel like old friends.The food was delicious - just what I was expecting from the website. We had a standard room with loads of drawer and hanging space for clothes. The bathroom was warm and cosy; with very hot water and the hand-held, over the bath shower worked well for a couple like us where one likes to bathe and the other to shower! As we were leaving, the owner showed us the del
