Hotels near SECC

Located slightly outside of the city centre but in a nice spot near BBC Scotland. Taxi only £4 each way and rank right outside, no problems in the morning. Traffic problems if there is an event on at the neighbouring arena! They respect Platinum upgrades, very friendly and chatty, real attention to service which was a refreshing change. Nice "scenic" lift. However, rooms are a little dated and my (club room) sounded like there was water gushing around it...even though aircon was swi - Aaron

I have lived for 2 years in Glasgow and this was a trip to visit some of the old places I have been to,decided to stay in this Hotel.Everything was as expected,room good size and clean nothing fancy.Location was 2 seconds from SECC as I knew it would be and close to city centre if you know your way round.As someone who has worked in hotel industry and specially in the front of the house,receptionists were lacking abit of enthusiasm in interacting with guests,don't get me wrong,they weren't rude - Adrian

Stayed here for one night during a trip to the secc. Perfect location if attending an event there, just 2 minutes walk from entrance. Rooms were clean and very modern. Reception staff very friendly! - Ian

We have stayed here twice, on both occasions we were off to concerts at the SECC, which is just literally a five minute walk away. The hotel itself is about a 20 minute walk away from the town centre, but that’s ok, taxi’s and buses run a good service. Maybe we have just been lucky but both times we have stayed here our room has been spot on, very very clean, comfy bed and spotless bathroom. The hotel public areas are also clean, if not a little confusing we seem to go up one flight of stairs - Clare

Stayed over for one night in the hotel - had read the comments from some others and was a bit worried - all I can say is they are talking rubbish - the reception was very helpful and very clean our room was lovely and clean and bright - no problem with the bathroom - if anything the heating was too warm - lovely fresh linen and towels - plenty tea/coffee making facilities in the room - the breakfast room and staff lovely - breakfast was brilliant too - for the money we paid absolutely excellent - Dennis

The location of this hotel is excellent, with many local attractions in walking distance. The hotel is well run, clean and the staff very helpful. - David

To be completely honest about this hotel: -Hotel kind of has a weird smell, oldish -laundry is piled up in bags in the hallways -found hairs in the room HOWEVER we enjoyed our experience at the Townhouse. We've stayed in worse hotels! We arrived very late at night and had to leave at five in the morning for an early flight. We had initially been given a horrible price by a cab driver for a ride to Prestwick airport in the morning. Mike, who we think is the owner, called all around for us a - Russell

really enjoyed my stay, albeit it's a B&B Hotel there's plenty of eating places around the area I had the best breakfast served in a hotel for a long time. Everything is cooked to order. Will certainly stay here again. Also a really clever idea are the straighteners in the bedrooms. - Sheila

We were really impressed with this hotel during our stay. The location is great for shopping, eating out and seeing the city. The staff were really polite & friendly and the food was always of excellent quality. The rooms have everything you need: with luxurious bathrooms, DVD, SkyTv and a great room-service menu there would be no need to go out! We'll definitely be staying here again when we go back go glasgow in a few months. - Clive
