The Elder York Guest House is a lovely place to stay in Edinburgh! The location is excellent, walking distance to all attractions. There are road works going on, but these won't interrupt your stay and should be over soon. The welcome was warm, the room was clean and had all the attributes of a 4* hotel, plus some. A warm comfortable bed and the room was very quiet, I probably had the best sleep for weeks. The breakfast good as you get at any 4* hotel I have stayed in up and down the country. A Great B&B, and a warm welcome to boot. I will be seeing all again soon I hope. When we arrived the introduction/explanation of services etc was good with clear, simple explanation of what to do and where things were. The 'owners' were very welcoming.
Brown's was very clean; there was good provision of every day items, teas, coffees and toiletries.
Breakfast was also good with a good range of items.
No critique at all.

made me feel at home immediately. There were nearby bus stops but I had
preferred to walk (about 15 minutes to Waverley Station). A large
supermarket (Tesco) is 5 minutes away and so are a number of
restaurants. I went on a day tour that set off early in the morning and
John (the owner) gladly served breakfast earlier than usual for me, so
that was great hospitality. If it were not fully booked, I'd have

This is a B&B we will return to. At a perfect spot in “Edinburgh new town”, in the middle of shopping and restaurant areas. The building originally from early 19th century is well preserved and nicely taken to the 21st. The top floor stairs is old and torn but so full of charms. Nice rooms in harmony with building, furniture and facilities. Run by friendly owners and an adorable old cat watching the lounge. Good WI-FI. Breakfast is served at neighbouring Rick’s Hotel, really good.
