Masson House Hotel, located at the University is a very comfortable, value for money Hotel close to the City and serviced by Taxi's (Cab Rank on Site, and very close to the Bus service to the City Centre.
We loved our stay and will definitely pass on to our friends that this is the best place to stay in Edinburgh.

The Elder York Guest House is a lovely place to stay in Edinburgh! The location is excellent, walking distance to all attractions. There are road works going on, but these won't interrupt your stay and should be over soon. Location is perfect. They are installing tram lines in the street but it still has access if you are arriving by car or taxi. Its a short walk to Waverly Station and all main tourist attractions can be reached by foot if you like to walk.
Room was excellent, breakfast was great. Did not try the restaurant at night but menu looked good and fairly priced.
Staff were all very friendly and attentive.
