I needed a b & b for a family celebration. I was traveling with my mother who is 91. I requested suitable accommodation for her and we had a single room on the ground floor with a handicapped bathroom. There were doors into the garden and we were close to the dining room for an excellent breakfast. Parking was available on the property and all in all we could not have been more comfortable. There were people staying of all ages. The house has been tastefully renovated keeping the char.
all reviews » Impeccably clean, tasteful, unfussy and well run, with every consideration given to providing for the comfort of guests; we saw that business people, families, a young couple, as well as us oldies were equally happy. Close to town for shops and cultural visits, but quiet location just a short drive from the coast. The staff were particularly friendly and keen to help, recommending a wonderful pub for our group to have an evening meal. I would highly recommend this guest house to all types of customer. Martin (the owner) showed much kindness to my elderly Mother. Room, overall ambience and breakfast all excellent. Martin the owner is a very nice chap and nothing was too much trouble for him. Nothing, it was great and hard to fault. did not supply a bath as quoted, but now has been corrected. breakfast was not a very strong point which let down all the gains. I feel for price quoted breakfast should have been included, as similar did.In the room was a basket supplied with snacks, which were supplied with a cost per item which I felt was not good form , as you offer snacks as part the welcome. Outside of these points would make a very good choice as a private guesthouse. Room was lovely and clean but was spoilt by the fact that we had a triple room, towels on bed were folded really nicely but we had 2 of one colour and then an odd coloured pile, which might sound picky but did spoil the look of the whole thing. Also, armchair by the bed had a tear in it. Not having evening meals, although there are loads of places very near and Martin gave full directions. Nothing to dislike. none. nothing. Nothing. Given loads of "house rules" No visitors past 10pm! Made it sound like a knocking shop! No air con, noticed the (Band name) sauce bottles were all out of date, but all full, suspect just being filled by a big tub of the stuff. Ipswich: You certainly need a good reason to be there.

Built in 1908, Lattice Lodge was originally a doctors’ surgery and residence. Today it provides 9 comfortable guest rooms, equipped with all modern comforts. The lodge aims to minimise its impact upon the environment and to support the local economy. Therefore, it sources all products and services locally and ethically, where possible. It is also working to reduce waste through careful purchasing, recycling, composting, and trying to avoid disposable goods. However, the lodge will never compromise on quality, and will also ensure that choices made don't impact upon your pocket.

Important information to guests

Please be aware that Lattice Lodge is a privately run bed and breakfast, and does not operate a 24 hour manned reception desk. However, a 24-hour self check-in service is available. Lattice Lodge will contact you after booking with details. Lattice Lodge accepts payment by cash, BACS transfer (in advance) and UK issued debit card. Please note that when booking the family room, if the third person is 16 or over, they will be charged as an adult. Synthetic pillows and bedding is available, please request when booking.

For those visiting on business, the lodge is well situated for both the town centre and BT at Adastral Park and Bibb Way. The 66 bus route is just a short walk away, providing links with the rest of the town.

The lodge offers a range of single, twin and double rooms, and one family room, all of which are en suite.

Some rooms are found on the ground floor, making them ideal for those with limited mobility. One has been purpose built for wheelchair users.

Small ironing boards are available in each room and an iron can be provided upon request.

Travelling information

By Car:
From London A12:
- When arriving at the outskirts of Ipswich, take the first slip road at 'Toys R Us'.
- Follow signs for Ipswich Town Centre.
- At the Civic Drive roundabout (you will see the Wolsey Theatre ahead of you), turn left.
- At the next roundabout, turn right.
- Continue past the bus station on your right and then the Milestone pub on your left.
- As the road bears left and goes uphill it becomes Woodbridge Road.
- Follow the road up the hill (staying in the left-hand lane) and continue straight over the first mini-roundabout.
- On the approach to the second mini-roundabout (Barclays Bank opposite), move into the left-hand lane and the Lodge entrance is on the left of the roundabout.

From Norwich/Midlands:
- Take the first slip road signposted to Ipswich.
- Continue past Asda, heading for the Town Centre.
- Go straight on at all roundabouts, past the bus station on your right and then the Milestone pub on your left.
- Then, as above.

By Bus:
From the Train Station:
Take Route 66 bus line and ask for the Golden Key stop on Woodbridge Road - it is less than a 10 minute journey. Head towards the Barclays Bank and Lattice Lodge is on your left.
