What people say
Excellent location in centre of Henley. Good value hotel considering location.Large, comfortable room. Immaculately clean. Parking available albeit a bit of a squeeze. Very good breakfast . Good to see an old property being well looked after. And - most unusual for a hotel room - temperature just right, neither too hot nor too cold, with radiator controls which worked.
Number 7 the attic room was beautiful. Apple green - fresh, relaxing and countrified with wonderful open beams. Pedestrianed street below meant no noise at night.
Had an excellent meal in their adjoining restaurant. Staff very friendly and helpful
Try the river walk to the right of the Angel pub - loved it!. all reviews »
on a very cold weekend the hotel was wonderfully warm , the staff were welcoming and polite and kindly saw that we had a groundfloor room as we are an elderly couple , great breakfasts, and excellent location. The parking arrangements excellent. A.Jarvis.
I really liked the location and the variety of breakfast. The staff was very friendly and If I happen to be in the town again, I'll stay there. The room was spacious and cleaned carefully. Every day tea, coffee, cakes and water were refreshed.
Convenient for centre of town. Room spacious, airy, clean, comfortable. Good for parking. Plenty of other local restaurants for dinner if you tire of fish. Evening staff who served us two nights were very good.
It was a lovely property for a quick weekend escape from London. The
room had lovely décor and was a great size. We had a delicious meal in
their Seafood restaurant and would absolutely recommend to dine there.
The food and service provided were both very good, the location is excellent right in the centre of Henley, good for wandering around the shops and close to the river for a stroll.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was always very clean and well kept. The rest of the hotel was very pretty and clean. The restaurant downstairs is top notch.
Everything was very good indeed; all the things above plus the quality of the breakfasts, and the breakfast service. We felt very welcome and will certainly return.
town centre location is brilliant. large room and very comfortable pillows. breakfast was exceptional. it'S small and is really A restaurant with rooms.
The hotel is in a great spot and offers incredibly good value for money. The bed was very comfortable and the hotel rooms are spacious and well furnished.
The bedroom was very comfortable as was the bed. There was a large bathroom with very nice white towels and lots of lotions/shampoo/handcream provided.
The room was very comfortable, large and clean.
The staff were friendly and obliging.
Excellent base for exploring Henley, Marlow, Thames area.
Location was perfect, staff were very helpful having never stayed in Henley before. The breakfast was one of the best - ever in a hotel!.

Great restaurant downstairs, really excellent!.
Very friendly, helpful and accommodating staff who looked after me very well. Room very comfortable, no complaints whatsoever.
Staff were polite and accomadating, made up an early breakfast for a very early start that was in the room when we returned.
Friendly, helpful, accomodating staff. Comfortable, well equipped & spacious room. Great location for visiting Henley.
Lovely, large room. Welcoming staff. Amazing breakfast - seafood a speciality so could choose haddock, salmon etc.
Above Loch Fyne restaurant with good food. Staff pleasant and helpful,
food good. Room spacious and comfortable.
The hotel is well situated, in the centre of town, next to the Thames. The facilities offered were excellent.
Staff and accommodation very good - comfortable, clean and highly recommend for easy access to Windsor etc.

Helpfull staff.
Would have liked a bath as well as a shower. Hate those don't steal me coathangers...surely none of us want to steal them? Why do hotels keep putting cushions (they can not be clean) on top of pillows - ugh, nasty.
It was not easy to find the entrance door which was closed and it turned out the entrance to the hotel was the same as the entrance to Loch Fyne restaurant. Some sign should be put there.
Breakfast staff mostly other European, perhaps their culture made them seem off hand at times. Cereal choice minimal.
Unfortunately we didn't sleep well, as we had the entrances to the
rooms just outside in which we could hear everyone coming and going,
when we had specifically asked for a quiet room this was slightly
disappointing. The light also shone through the door, from the hallway
and from the window.
The bathroom arrangement in room 5 is very curious, the facilties are behind a partition wall backing onto the bed, not our preferred choice, we noted that other rooms were somewhat larger and had a separate bahroom, perhaps this is reflected in the cost of room 5 it did not spoil our stay though.
Very little, except that the hotel combined reception with the front bar which is never a good idea.
access to the 'hotel' is poorly signed. unfortunately there was no hot water available on our second night.
The shower head didn't fit very well and shot water out of the gap which sprayed all over the walls and floor of the room. I mentioned this to the staff when leaving.
The room we stayed in was a little 'tired' in places, but would still definitely recommend!.
Carpets were a little grubby in the room we stayed, also bathroom although clean was a little tired.
Rreception was a bit confusing on arrival - via the restaurant but fine once we found it!.
Breakfast very disappointing. Skin on, lukewarm/cold smoked haddock,
"lump" of Hollandaise from tub/jar, also cold, plus the
smallest poached egg I have ever seen - unless it was a quail's!
Weak tea, but good toast - no marmalade/honey. And before anyone
says "you should have asked", I shouldn't have to at
£85/night b and B.
Service in the restaurant was poor, while several main courses on the menu were not available. Maybe an off-day?.
Nothing.
Breakfast was served until 10am, but when we arrived at 9.45, everything had been packed away. If it's packed away at 9.45 - please tell us that so we can arrived on time... don't tell us that it's served until 10am!.
the stairs!.
no bath.
Continental breakfast bar was bit meagre but cooked breakfast was excellent.
Had to leave just after 7, so too early for breakfast.
Nothing.
The badly stained carpet in the bedroom plus the bedroom was far too hot even with the window open and the fan on.
Checking in was a bit haphazard. Our room (5) was outdated and we didn't like the fact that the bathroom area had no door. The entrance to the hotel when the restaurant was shut was untidy and an ashtray was left full for the duration of our stay.
Room 1 where we stayed bathroom looked in need of modernisation. Other rooms we have stayed in have been modernised.
Rude awakening by other mature guests arriving at 3am screaming and singing after banging on front door. A security guard with a stun-gun would have been useful:-).
Parking.
The bathroom was rather tatty with fixtures looking old and quite sad.
Rooms could do with freshening up.
There was a "Emergency Exit" light above the main door and although there was some attempt to cover it up, it was a little a little annoying.
Room too hot. Fan provided but only one of three windows opened.
Poached haddock at breakfast returned twice because it was inadequately cooked.
limited parking at hotel
but okay.
the breakfast.
The bath had not been cleaned and had hairs in it. Outside the bedroom, the hotel does smell rather of fish (it's attached to a fish restaurant).
it was a bit noisy in the front on a friday night but then it was just before henley week.
It was too hot - we couldn't turn the radiators down in the room or bathroom.
No Internet connection. First night of stay was locked out cause hotel key not working. Had to stay with friend that first night. I still haven't got the refund.
We were woken very early by the Thursday market being erected.
price of wine.
