The friendliness and desk service at the hotel was quite outstanding. They showed us 3 rooms on arrival, and allowed us to inspect and make our own choice. A request to have it repaired or turned on was ignored, but we eventually found the switch under the bed in the other room !. Pillows a bit lumpy, but that's being picky - everything else was fine.Not fond of the current trend for buffet breakfast.The food is never at its best although I accept economic reasons. The reception staff were not that friendly or overly welcoming. lack of lifts but understandable given the nature of the building. Cold tap in room was hard to turn on (I think it is damaged inside). Limited TV channels (nothing to watch other than terrestrial and football). Access to car park. I'm not sure I payed for the room I asked, according to me the one I hadwas too small for what I payed and it wasn't the one I saw in thepicture when I booked.Curtains needed repairs/rehanging - 5 minute job but needs ladders. There was not much choice on the restaurant menu for the evening meal, but it did not matter to us as we were going out anyway.Noisy extract stack outside bedroom window (from the kitchen) was a bit obtrusive but not unacceptable. No, I think we all agree we would definitely stay there again. I did not like the room i was allocated on arrival. (In the old part of the Abbey). Room had a slight musty smell and could do with a referb. The restaurant menu was poor and overpriced for the selection. On entering the room it was cold. The breakfast was not appetising.I felt that the evening menu in the restaurant was a very big let down. Large coach parties which meant we were told when we could eat!. The Bathroom was drafty and the window was less than clean, I suggest mainly due to build up of damp. The evening meal in the restaurant was overpriced and not good value for money. However, the bar menu looked good and breakfast was very good.There were insufficient towells and a virtually empty tissue box in the bathroom. No menue samples were in the room only room service. I am surprised this is rated four star. Reception staff were effiecient but slightly detached.Problems checking in! I booked an executive room , but when I checked in early I was down for a standard! When I re checked in later I was down for a superior room! I eventually ended up in a large ground floor room with very little privacy. Reception staff were not overly welcoming or friendly.the food was not very good. Cold food on first night although this was rectified 2nd night. When the room was made up Tea Pot was left dirty and Milk not replenished.Restaurant staff were poor and inexperienced, food was mis represented and unacceptable. Very limited and somewhat stodgy bar menu, and the fact that, due to a wedding in progress, we (a party of 4) could not use the Dining room and some wine (rose) was not available. Large conference taking place in hotel. Bar very noisy. We had to walk through the bar or the restaurant to reach our room. Bed is too small for double occupancy. Matress too hard.lack of visible information re - restaurant timings, bar times or tarrifs. No signs to say where the restaurant was situated. No quiet bar or lounge area without a television.

The Abbey’s setting is one of the most perfect in the country, close to many interesting cities yet situated right in the heart of the countryside at the foot of the Malvern Hills. The hotel offers a tranquil haven in which to retreat and relax. The aspect of the hotel offers spectacular views of the scenic Vale of Evesham and beautiful Malvern Hills.

The Abbey has been welcoming guests since the mid 1800s and is steeped in history. The site was once part of the adjoining Benedictine Priory and during its time as a hotel it was commandeered by the Ministry of Information in World War II. Today the hotel is committed to offering a warm welcome and excellent service, boasting all the modern facilities and comfort demanded by business and leisure travellers alike.

If you have reserved a rate that requires a deposit, for your security, the credit card used for pre-payment must be presented at check in. Please note that only the lounge menu will be available on certain dates throughout the festive season. Travelling information

By road. M5 North: Exit Junction 7 and take the a449 for 9 miles towards Great Malvern. After the Malvern Link Common, turn left into Graham Road. After the traffic lights go straight to the end of Grange Road and take a sharp turn right turn into Abbey Road. The Abbey Hotel is on the right at the top end before the Abbey Gateway. M5 South: Exit Junction 8 and take m50 to Junction 1. Take a38 for 3 miles and turn left onto the a4104. Turn right onto the b4211 towards Malvern. Once through Barnards Green, take the third exit at the roundabout into Barnards Green Road. Turn left at the traffic lights and at the end of the road take a sharp right into Abbey Road. West via Ledbury: From Ledbury take a449 to Malvern. Take right turn to Town Centre along Abbey Road. By rail: Great Malvern Station is situated on the Intercity Rail Network between Paddington and Hereford. The station is situated less than one mile from the Abbey Hotel. By air: Birmingham International Airport - 38 miles m42, m5, Junction 7.
