What people say
We stay at two or three B & B’s every year and this is the best one we have ever stayed at. The rooms were clean and decorated in a way that it felt like a home from home. You had free range of the kitchen if you wanted to prepare your own food as well having the option of using the living rooms to relax in after a long tiring day out exploring the area. The rooms were light and with plenty of room. One room is available if you wish to bring your dog which is always nice. As soon as we. all reviews »
We stayed in the self-contained flat which was outstanding value for a family of four. My two sons (aged 8 and 10) loved the space and freedom of the flat and the gardens. My husband and I did not have to worry about them waking up early and disturbing other guests or even dressing for breakfast! Having our own kitchen meant that we were able to cook a simple late supper without dragging the children out to find a restaurant. All in all, a real home from home.
The owner was very friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome in her beautiful home. We stayed in the apartment and an extra bed was placed in the children's room. Fresh Bread, milk etc was provided for breakfast. The house itself is stunning and perfectly located for the college.
B&B was decorated beautifully and the views over Malvern were stunning. Breakfast was also plentiful and delicious. The House also has a trail up to the hills very close and is only a short wall to the town centre. We will definitely be returning!.
Pleasant informality of owners son who had been left in charge. He could not have been more helpful when I had locked myself out and lost the key!
The do-it-yourself breakfast was excellent. The rooms were spacious and well equipped.
Very relaxed feel to the B&B, very friendly owners who were very helpful with advice and directions. The room was very comfortable and clean and there was a good range of food to choose from for breakfast. Would love to go again!.
Enjoyed 1 night stay...loved this impressive house...loads of character and 'quirky-ness'!. Owner, Shirley, very nice..even let us in early. quiet location, town 10 minute walk away. (Try some fodder in 'Mac & Jac's!! ).
We have booked a few B&B's but nothing compares with No 5
in our view.We loved everything about it Shirley is one of the nicest people we have met and Sue was a treasure. It felt to us like home from home. Wonderful.
No 5 was ideally situated for us for the Malvern college cricket festival, the owners were extremely friendly and welcoming and won't hesitate to recommend and to book there again for the festival next year. Stayed in the two bed basement apartment, very impressed with all of the spacious and well appointed rooms. Very helpful staff who made us feel very welcome. Would be my first choice if staying in Malvern.
We liked the quirky décor and the space. The person who met us was friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable. The apartment was warm in spite of the age of the building and the size of the rooms.
Very nice and comfortable apartment. We had a most pleasant stay thanks to the warm and generous landlord and well-equipped, roomy flat. I warmly recommend this hotel.
The hosts are very welcoming. The whole atmosphere was informal and relaxed. The house is set in lovely surrounds - the wlk nto Great Malvern is a treat in itself.
Good location in Malvern and large rooms with marvellous views. Very welcoming and relaxed owners.
Beds extremely comfortable and breakfast excellent.
Very spacious interior, relaxed atmosphere, well designed space, full of extremely thoughtful art works and design features. The lighting was superb.
Palacial room in a thoughtfully restored large Victorian house a stone's throw from Malvern College. Very comfortable bed and extremely quiet.
Absolutely first class. A great welcome, lovely room and a la carte breakfast. Beats all the local hotels hands down.
A warm welcome, relaxed friendly atmosphere. Lovely views. A happy place!! Really enjoyed and would go back!.
Breakfast was very good = continental only but was an excellent spread - good staff - very friendly.
It was very homely and welcoming. The Staff were friendly and very helpful and a delightful stay.

It was clean, large, friendly owner, great location, great facilities,.
Great breakfast, terrific value for money, charming hostess.
Place is outstanding. Home and service are excellent.
Welcome, good service, spacious and lovely view.
Everything was excellent, except>>>.
Excellent room - caring staff - cheerfull.
Friendly hostess. Attracti've house.
Great room with view.
Having to leave would loved to haveer stayed long.
Everything was fine to be honest...you know it's a continental breakfast before you book.
There was nothing to dislike.
The only thing I missed was the choice of a fry up in the mornings but we didn't go out hungry. Might have to wait a while for a "hot" shower/bath.....at busy times !.
It's a bit noisy as the floor above has wooden flooring and people tend to stomp about, but you would expect that in a building of this age. The path down to the apartment is very steep and could do with a handrail - it would be impossible to negotiate in the ice. You have to be quick to have your shower in the morning as the hot water runs out!.
Would have appreciated a shelf in the bathroom to park spongebags.
Not very well designed bathroom with little to no space to put anything. Not a big deal though and certainly not enough to outweigh an otherwise excellent experience.
only one thing it was not easy to find.
Ensuite needs a heater/towel rail; proper bedside tables with lights e/s.
Nothing.
Shower in my room wasn't heating.
Why do hotels try to use electric hotels? they are great in summer but useless in winter!!!.
a bit cool in bedroom and bathroom (no heating!).
Breakfast poor.
