Spent three nights in the Great Malvern Hotel. As others have said don't be put off by the look of the building.Staff are very friendly and helpfull. Rooms are of a good size and being redecorated at this time. Food is excellent all you can eat for breakfast. The bar gets lively most nights with entertainment good selection of real ales. The carpark has only 8 spaces so it first come first served but the reception will put you wise to parking in the area no great problem.Central location for th.
all reviews » Jeremy was friendly, efficient and accommodating, the staff were all very efficient and friendly, the room was large and clean and bathroom was enormous. The food was first class and breakfast was cooked to order. The Hotel is in the centre of Malvern, has a friendly bar a snug and a very comfortable lounge. Car parking is limited but first come first served. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. There is nothing plastic and we loved the quirky nature of this old hotel. From the moment we arrived, nothing was too much trouble to make our stay enjoyable. The food is good value pub grub and the range of other facilities, such as live music, sky sports, the shops, the theatre and the hills just outside the door, made this a great stay. A classic pub-hotel, in the centre of Great Malvern. Clean room, TV, tea+coffee making, free internet, large bathroom (in my case) and idea lfor a no-nonsense hotel very close to the centre of town. Quiet atmoshpere in keeping with the town itself. I would stay there again - would be the first place to look. The staff were friendly and endlessly helpful. The facilities were adequate and everything worked. Wi-Fi and parking was free and the location in the centre of Malvern is excellent. The bar also featured some excellent beer. The room had a curtained off door that wasn't secure and led to staff area. May be fire regs but not a great feature. The power shower wasn't very powerful and difficult to switch back to normal bath tap mode. But minor irritations. No problems at all. Faded, traditional decor. as usual, sometimes the Wi-Fi was temperamental. I was at the top floor and it showed a decent signal, but I think some routers get old sometimes and simply need renewing, and maybe a repeater on top floor. Only think I didn't like was the breakfast time as felt it finished a bit early. Parking might be a problem at busy times but it was OK for me. A little shabby. The rooms need refurbishment, clean but a bit tatty. Decor was abit tierd. Nothing. Hotel is in need of some re-decoration but it is only cosmetic. Breakfast was lovely, but sausages hardly cooked. Unfortunate room (No. 3) - there was a pidgeon (dove) enclosure outside our window with much excrement on the window ledge. Were woken early each morning by cooing and bird noises directly outside... The WiFi was not accessible from our room, though it could be accessed from eg the lounge. This was slightly inconvenient. Water pressure for the shower is very weak. Shower in my room needed attention - leak meant hardly any water coming out of shower head. Beds we're slightly thin but very comfortable!. Nothing really. The car parking was limited but the staff were really helpful when finding somewhere else. nothing of any importance. room was not the best placed in the hotel, window film was a bad point as we were unable to see out,. The hotel's parking area only has approximately 10 spaces within an extremely tight area. Parking anything larger than a Smart car can be a challenge. Car parking very limited and one night we had to park some distance from the Hotel. The girl at the check in wasnt too polite, felt like I was checking into an inn.. Acessibility for wheelchair. nothing. Public areas inside and out could do with a bit of an upgrade. Pigeons were housed near our bedroom window and awoke us at 6am and kept us awake for the next 2 hours. When we booked we were told there was parking available. When we arrived, the few spaces available were already taken. The floorboards above and below creaked a lot when people walked around. Bathroom door would not close. (Room number 6).
