friendly staff and bar staff. The ability to use the snooker room all night if wanted. The situation - lovely area for walking the dog. Comfortable, amenable public areas. Excellent service and food. Clearly they are still improving the fabric of the hotel and doing a good job. Some further renovation work generally would help greatly - then it would look impressive. You could hear people in adjacent rooms, not very sound proof. The hotel looks as if it's been opened recently after many years of neglect - rough edges everywhere. There only seemed to be a few members of staff there doing everything, and on a few occasions there wasn't anyone around to ask.The rooms themselves were a little outdated and could do with some modernising to bring them in line with the rest of the reception areas. The drive out off the Hotel onto the main road the a590 is verydifficult.Hotel in need of major refurbishment. Somewhat tired, needing refurb. The corridors are disgusting. As it was a surprise for the other person I was bringing along I was horrified at the first impressions of the hotel on the inside especially whilst walking to my room. The room was fairly basic for the price paid and the shower was quite poor. The evening meals at the bar were also very basic. hotel is particularly run down as is most of the decor and carpets definitely needs a major overhaul. having booked this as a treat for my mum we paid £114 per room for two rooms, my mums room was not clean and it had what can only be described as an old amy blanket as bedding, my room was not much better with the throw over on the bed being ripped i would compare this to a £25 room not £114. we were upgraded after complaining.
