Glasgow Gay Friendly Hotels

Stayed at 1 Devonshire for 1 night before catching a flight to New York. If you have no reason to visit Glasgow then invent one so you can stay at this hotel. I knew it was good, but it far exceeded expectations. Fabulous, lavish merchant palaces built at the height of Glasgow's prosperity and beautifully preserved. Cosy, lavishly furnished rooms and bathrooms and probably no two the same. Open fire places in the living room and a relaxing dram before bed. Excellent value for money all things co - Charles

We did a last minute trip to Glasgow and decided to book this apartment as opposed to a hotel room. It was £90 per day and worth every penny. The apartment was immaculate with everything being of the highest quality. The full kitchen was filled with top quality goods and there was every item you would ever need! The furniture is very modern (not our taste) but nevertheless felt "homely". We were comfortable from the moment we stepped through the door. Located right in the city centr - Helen

We flew to Scotland from the US in July 2005. The Glasgow SAS was our first hotel and we could not have made a better choice. This is definately the hotel-of-choice for Glasgow. The room was very quiet and extremely clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable (we woke up at 11 am- I haven't slept that many hours in years!!!) The hotel staff was exceptional. I wish I had written down the name of the bellman so I could specifically thank him. He was unbelievably helpful and kind. Everyone we came in - Michael

Having stayed in the hotel several times I thought it was time I wrote a review and to be honest I find it hard to fault the Marriott. Having children I have always found it very child friendly and the staff have never made you feel that your kids are not wellcome. The family rooms are a good size and the kids get a nice bed rather that a fold up bed or bed settee. The rooms have always been very clean. The pool is lovely and warm and not too deep. We stayed for 2 nights at a cost of £76 per - Kevin

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for five nights earlier this month. We chose The Menzies partly due to its apparent close location to the city centre, but also due to the obvious attention Lenny Hughes, the General Manager, pays to feedback provided by other customers via TA. Any hotel that takes time for this sort of thing has to be given a chance ! We were not disappointed. Booked into Hilton to use as a base for a concert and some visits to the surounding area. Very well presented hotel that was clean and tidy through out. Staff were first class and very polite all the time. Can not ask for more a very pleasing stay and good rates with very good quality food. Ideal base for touring Glasgow and the area - Steve

We stayed at the Hotel for 1 night to go to the Eagles concert at Hampden Park. We had stayed in the Hilton (4 star) in Isle of Man 2 weeks ago, but this experience was light years ahead! Every detail was taken care of, from the "looking forward to your visit" text before we left home with an offer of directions, to the telephone call after we had left to tell us our son had left some things in his room, they were so attentive. Me, my sister and my pal went to stay in Glasgow last October to watch Bryan Adams in concert and we stayed at the Mark Hotel. We walked out of Glasgow Queen Street station and we saw the hotel at the top of the hill. Walked in and it looks beautiful and we proceeded to our room and when we walked in it was breath-taking. So modern and confortable and conveniently located in the centre of Glasgow, idea for shopping. A must stay. I will be going back in Nov 09 when I go to another concert. - Karen

Entrance is tucked away in the middle of a side street. Check-in staff is very helpful. Staff seemed to be looking for a way to be helpful if an inquiry is made! Did not take advantage of the breakfast. Aldi and Marks and Spencers is just down the street. Excellent recommendations were made in regards to getting around to Hampden Park and what to expect. We stayed at the Express over a Saturday night and we were more than satisfied with the room,the service and the location...don't know what other reviewers thought they where going to get at a budget city centre hotel?...but you get what you pay for....and this hotel IS value for money.I must also point out the excellent courtesy and service from the two gentlemen on reception upon checkout (13/09/09) they were helpful and a little unusual for receptionists...they are genuinely interested in the - Wenqi

This is a lovely hotel in a superb location for exploring round the west end, Botanic gardens and indeed to get anywhere in surrounding area. The hotel is charming with period features and bright, airy and clean rooms. It manages to combine the right mix of traditional, Victorian grandeur with a modern, luxurious feel. The breakfast was delicious and particularly memorable for us as we sat at the beautiful bay window as the sun streamed in. Very reasonably priced and would like to return in futu - Cynthia

We can't say enough about this wonderful little hotel. The location was PERFECT. It's on very quiet little street, but yet right in the heart of the West End. The rooms were immaculate, too. We are neat freaks...and this room was CLEAN! The staff was so friendly and accomodating! When my wife's hair iron wouldn't work...the receptionist gave up her own for my wife to use!!! Now THAT is going above and beyond! You can't go wrong with the Albion Hotel. Best of all, it's a really great value. - Judith
