excellent location, only 2-3 minutes walk to George square and Queen street rail station and 10 minutes walk to glasgow central station and Bucannan galleries which makes you near everything the city center has to offer. the hotel itself is quiet, comfortable, clean and has a nice restaurant and bar. Staff are friendly and quick. The room was of a very good size with clean toilets and is comfortable, specially quiet at night for a goodnight sleep.
all reviews » I have no complaints at all about Premier Inn Glasgow City George Square.I found my room spotlessly clean, warm and quiet .The hotel staff were helpful and friendly.I chose to have a continental breakfast in the mornings and found the food to be of good quality with plenty of choises. I stayed in the hotel for 7 nights and would be very happy to stay there again in the future. Staff were very friendly and considerate towards us as the customers, they were polite and always had a smile. Maria? Our room maid was very good, room always perfect. The location is good for shops, restaurants, and the sights of Glasgow. The price while not as low as the advertised £29.99 per person per night was quite reasonable for a city centre hotel. Delighted with hotel, We were visiting family who live only a couple of miles from George Square so the hotel was ideally sited for that visit and visiting the City centre... A young man booked us in (and out as it happened) and couldn't have been more helpful and friendly on each occasion. Well done to him!!. We took a four bed room, and the room was quite big and comfortable. Nicely located, right in the city centre, a short distance from the railway station, and Buchanan Bus Station. It is also very close to the starting point for the City Tour. The breakfast was very good, with a wide variety of choices. We stayed there because of it's location to George Square. Parking garage right opposite the hotel, though we paid for it, was very convenient. The room was spacious and clean. Staff was very nice. They said they would have supplied us with a fan had they known we were warm in our room. Location is in an excellent area for those wanting to be close to downtown Glasgow. Bed was comfortable and the room was adequate for our four day visit. Breakfast was good, with friendly wait staff being attentive and the in-house bar was nice to have on the premises for a nightcap. Room was larger and better appointed than I expected. Staff was helpful storing our luggage since we arrived 3 hours prior to check in. Location was good with just a short walk to George Square area and Merchant City pubs and restaurants. Position in heart of the city , proximity to decent multi storey parking, staff were all warm and welcoming ,the lounge , bar and restaurant were all warm and very pleasant to relax in , and the food and drink were all high standard. The hotel was in an excellent location as we arrived in at the local bus station. The room was very spacious for a family of four and food was very good. Def. good value for money and would highly recommend!!. Fabulous location in George Street just 2 minutes from the magificent George Square and the centre of Glasgow. Very close to Merchant City a great place for nighlife. Comfortable room and great bar area. Fantastic quick service when arrived hungry at 9.50pm. Everyone helpful and efficient - even other customers, lugging our heavy luggage (we are both 75). Open, friendly, efficient, professional service. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. On check in the male receptionist answered all our questions with a smile which was lovely. Even a breakfast the waitress and happy and cheerful. The fact that you moved all to the rear of the Hotel,to counteract the noise of road works at the front,. was much appreciated,unfortunately the fire alarm going off at 06.30hours,made that negated. we liked the room, the location, friendly staff, good security - a room keycard was required to access the lifts and stairwells so only those staying in the hotel could get to the rooms. I like Premier Inn, George Square, for being convenient to all modes of transport and shopping. Glasgow itself has many fine restaurants and shops with very friendly and helpful staff. The inroom temperature control only provides heating but not cooling ( a fan is provided). There was no parking attached to or with the hotel and the bed was a bit on the hard side giving a bit of disturbed nights. Girl behind desk on arrival didn't seem to be having a good day! We were brusqely informed we were too early to book in. When we returned at the "correct" time, she was nowhere to be seen (and didn't appear despite more than one ringing of the bell on the desktop). A passing staff member booked us in with a totally different attitude. This was my only complaint, but it could be taken as a poor "first impression"... Because the room was warm, we had to have the window open and the street/people noise was very loud. The bed was sufficient, but not very comfortable. While the room was overall adequate, it does look dated and the overall hotel could do with a make-over. Check in wasn't that easy since we had to do passport information. Bathtub was narrow by American standards but I think it's just the way tubs are in the UK/Europe. Nothing. Nothing. The room heater was placed in an unfortunate position, and the control panel did not correspond to the operation of the heater, but as you only spend as little time as you can in the room, it was a minor problem. The restaurant did not open until 17.00hrs which meant we were unable to use it. No dislikes comes to mind. The heater is not user-friendly, the TV is not easily visible from the bed; size of TV and resolution leaves a lot to be desired. food on the expensive side . Annoyance of electronic self-checkin where credit card was not accepted. Manual check-in worked fine but now fear have been double charged for room. nothing. The cooked breakfast was not so good. Also the buffet had very poor fruit only apples and oranges. No grapefruit or even tinned grapefruit. The service was very slow in the bar. Only 30 mins of free WiFi. Additional time is 3gbp per day. WiFi should be free and unlimited. Nothing. Due to the location there was quite a lot of traffic noise late at night and early in the morning. Smoking outside main entrance. Everything was perfect. Street entrance needs tidying since it is used as a smokers location. Nothing. Outside of building doesn't do hotel justice. drink too dear compared to pubs around u also tought b/fast should be included for what we paid. Having to pay for wifi after 30 minutes' free access. The fact that they couldn't find it.We eventually killed it. bathroom slightly bigger and iPod dock would be a good idea. All ok really. smokers crowding around the front door steps same steps made access difficult with big luggage. No Air Conditioning No individual soaps, just liquid soap on wall. The room window is dusty, couldn't see the view properly,. nothing. Nothing in particular. The weather ;).
