Beautiful view over the Queens Park. Hotel and rooms had much character.love the view of the park and nice room. I requested morning rolls for breakfast - I was disappointed thatthere were none on first day, and they got them for me. Withrheumatoid arthritis, a comfortable bed and arm chair are mostimportant - I got both.Very friendly staff, great breakfast and the rate was reasonable. the breakfast was very excellent and including in the price. Pleasant situation opposite park. Friendly, helpful staff. My room was up to expectation, comfortable and quiet. staff very helpful, room clean and comfortable. Good location near park and on S of City.Good location and reasonable rates. Proximity to my destination later. Very good location. View of the park. staff. Very good location, good parking facility, Double bedroom was very good. Good value Location for where I was looking to visit. Very quiet, cool room and friendly, obliging staff. The cleanliness of the room and bathroom. Proximity to the airport. The bar area. The staff were very friendly and the location for the purpose of my trip was good. Also the view over Queens Park was lovely.Joanne was a very helpful receptionist, giving help with local transport and museums etc. Ease of location and outlook on to Queens Park. Price and location. The staff were very friendly and very helpful.handy location for Stadium. its location. Small reasonably friendly place with no frills at a reasonable price. This hotel is a nice old building and has enormous potential if a little more effort was spent on it. I found the staff friendly and accommodating.I have made some negative comments but these can be overcome very easily with a bit of tlc. Location and Parking OK. Friendly staff. The style (although it was faded). Breakfast was pretty good!. The location.Easy access to city centre and also to Hampden (we were there for a concert). The only down point about my stay is that the room I had although very clean could do with a makeover.Hard to find the barstaff!. The lift needs some urgent maintenance. The 1st room allocated was very noisy and the shower did not work, we were moved to a much better room for the following 2 nights, no fuss was made by us or the staff. didn't like up on the 3rd floor or the elevator not working all the time.
also forgot some items there, and need to contact them to see if they found them. please send me there e-mail addy. This was our third stay at the hotel. Twice pre Best Western when it wasa more Scottish atmosphere and experience. The Staff gave the Scottishatmosphere. Bar facilities were poorly manned - but I guess that was an issue with the fact that only a skeleton staff operate in the hotel.Lift very small. For the second stay running, my bedside light did not work. lift did not always work and lighting above bed not working and no-one able to change the bulbs. Couldn't get breakfast on the first morning as the staff weren't able to cope with the numbers, which didn't really seem that many anyway. Tempers were getting frayed so we went elsewhere. No cafes were open on Victoria road so ended up getting the train to Glasgow for breakfast. The breakfast was very poor , the english breakfast resulted in very small portions. It took a while to get into the hotel at night as it seemed that the porter was asleep. decor. Single bedroom in the back was very noisy. Just one person in the breakfast service so this was very slow. Non Availablity of late food and Drink after 10:00pm. Room was in need of redecoration,. The service at breakfast was next to non-existent and the food was cold. The common areas could do with a lick of paint. The stairs are very gloomy. The standard of food was very poor - there was a stand in chef at the time i was there. For the price i had to pay for the meal, I wasn't impressed.Quality of food was very poor especially the evening meal. Many items described in the hotel literature were not available. Breakfast service was appalling. The lift was temperamental at best, dangerous at worst. No shaver point in refurbished bathroom. The breakfast was ok but quite greasy and breakfast room staff were a little confused regarding which table to service.Room was a bit weary and in need of some decoration. Several items on breakfast menu were not available. I've stayed at this hotel on two occasions, after the first stay I thought I'd give the hotel another chance. The hotel is very hot, stifling and with no option to turn down the heat in the rooms. On the first occasion thick brown water came out of the shower, on the second occasion I had no internet access.Hotel very understaffed at breakfast time waiter/waitress did their best. very shabby- peeling paper, frayed carpets. We had to ask for towels as the bathroom had none.Original room given had bad odour. We were upgraded. No food available on arrival. Wi-Fi adertised but not working on my last 2 visits. Room was a little cold.No lights in room on morning of departure, very difficult when disabled,..probably a tripped fuse but no response from front desk at 6am.Had to depart without checking out properly as no staff at reception.Decoration a bit 'tired' Wall paper peeling off in several places. Rooms rather tired with mould in the bathroom. Glazing did not keep out street noise. Limited restaurant menu. The lift gave on confidence you would get out alive, luckily I found a stair case. Th ebathroom door couln't shut as the floor had swollen, the shower didn't work and if it had it woul dhave been cold. My reservation was never known by them and I didn't have a room! Luckily for me someone called up to cancel their reservation at 7:30pm when I was attempting to check in, so I luckily got the apartment that they were booked into, but had to pay the price of their room, not the price of the room I booked in the first place that they Didn't Have. The room was dirty. Receptionists weren't helpful! The lift, the room, and most facilities were old! no hot water!. Quite dated, room was quite cold, the bathroom had no radiator, not good when you get -1 temperatures in Glasgow. The staff were really poor. The restaurant manager was a fool, running around like Basil Fawlty. Breakfast was a farse we and 3 other couples had to wait in the lounge bar until they cleared tables, which they didnt get round to until we all prompted them.Service in restaurant was pathetic (only 1 man serving whole dining room). Cleanliness in dining room left a lot to be desired (window sills covered in cobwebs).
