  Unpretentious luxury. We chose a room with a patio as it could be used if it rained since it was beneath the balcony of the room above. It was large with plenty of storage space and comfy chairs & sofa. We requested and received sheets & blankets as we don’t get on with duvets. The lounge bar food was both - It is very difficult to find anything specific as everything was expected from seeing the reviews and pictures on the website, which totally do The Coniston justice. My partner is from Yorkshire and we visit regularly and the location was perfect. Just outside Skipton and on the outskirts of the stunning Dales National Park.   Tarn House is a tastefully renovated historic place with atmosphere and it was a privilege to stay there. The receptionist was friendly and helpful and went out of her way to provide maps and other information. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The room was gorgeous and a really good size. Large ensuite too with bath and shower. Hotel set in beautiful grounds. Continental breakfast was lovely with lots of choice to set you up for the day.Well worth the money.
