Welcoming,friendly and accommodating .Stylishly decorated, Centrally
positioned hotel with lovely helpful staff.Good breakfast and there is a
brilliant Greek restaurant in the basement. Dog friendly was also a
bonus.We plan to stay next time we visit Folkestone.
We only stayed for a night, arrived later on in the day and left very
early in the morning to catch our crossing to France. It did everything
we needed and the owner was very pleasant, friendly and helpful whilst
we were there.all reviews »

Parking might be an issue however we were given a voucher by the hotel

Room was very warm and there was no way of controlling the heat. Scaffolding (temporary I know) outside bedroom window was a bit worrying.

There was no parking, and parking nearby very expensive. Parked 10 minute walk away for free.
Bathroom floor, whilst being lovely, was very slippery coming out of the shower.
Would have liked bar open would have made all the difference.

Breakfast could have been more substantial.
Continental breakfast was poor croissants weren't baked but straight
from the package. Cutlery and glasses were dirty. Greek restaurant food
was very plain and not very Greek. Also dirty cutlery and glasses. Staff
was very friendly though!.
Bathroom was small and had mould in the shower and a broken toilet seat. Bit of attention needed for cleanliness.
Room hot at night and no opeing windows. Shower slow to heat up.
No parking, even "recommended" parking areas resulted in a ticket. Mattresses on beds uncomfortable.

The mattress was terrible you could feel the springs. Their was no hot water to the sink. The tv must have been 20 years old and didn't work. Light bulbs missing from bedside lamp and ceiling. The bar they advertise is not there, only the restaurant bar Wednesday to Saturday 6pm til 10pm. The whole building smells of curry.no milk in the room for tea in the morning.breakfast was terrible.

Information about the area
During your stay you can take a day trip to Calais, Boulogne or Dunkerque using the efficient sea cat and ferry connections at nearby Dover (6 miles). The Channel Tunnel is also only 3 miles away. Both are accessible via train and train from Folkestone.
If you would rather stay on the mainland, Dover is a wonderful day excursion where you can see the famous White Cliffs and Leeds Castle. Other nearby cities and towns include:
