This hotel was clean, modern and excellent value for money. The staffwere very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. Thefacilites in the wheelchair accessible room we booked were the best Ihave seen in any accommodation in the uk, with automatic doors intothe room, a wet room with a seat in the shower, wide doors and loweredhand basins. By far the best budget hotels we have used - fantastic value for money and just minutes away from the Channel tunnel. We were travelling to France early the next morning before the start of breakfast so we were given a takeaway breakfast for the journey! Holiday Inn will definitely be our preferred hotel choice for our next visit!.
all reviews » It worked exceptionally well for our family. Lots of parking available Room had everything we needed. Buffet breakfast great when travelling with a toddler. Quick, efficent service and good quality fresh food with lots of choice. The General Manager was very attentive and helpful. The hotel was brand new and the layout and facilities were all excelent. The room was very well layout and equiped. Even though that coming from the North you go past junction 11a on the M20 you do not need to get back on to the motorway to access the channel tunnel terminal.The staff were exceptionally friendlty and polite, something that seemsto be harder to find these days. Nothing was too much trouble for themand they were consistently professional. Please ensure that this getsfed back to them. Many thanks. Although we stayed only over night, our stay was comfortable, enjoyable and all amenities there if we wanted. The staff were very helpful and polite. They allowed us to check-in before our time with no charge which was much appreciated.This hotel puts many 3* hotels to shame. We had to leave at 5.15am to catch train, at check out there were 2 packed breakfasts waiting for us and a detailed route/map to Channel Tunnel tolls. We will be using this hotel again. We were impressed by pretty well everything. We have never stayed at a Holiday Inn Express before and were unsure if we would like it - we usually stay in more upmarket hotels. The air conditioning in the area used for breakfast was on rather high and made the area feel cold rather than just cool. Not having stayed in a hotel before that required you to insert your key card inside the room to switch power on in the room we thought that there was a fault had to ask a member of the cleaning staff what to do - maybe this could be explained at check in.Only thing missing in the room was a loo brush in the toilet. reception overcroded with customers from the bar, not enough teabags in room. The food in the restaurant. I know it is an express hotel and there was enough choice ..7 or 8 plates but the cooking of the food seemed wasn't cooked by a proffessional cook..the food was dry,,I had burger and there was no ketch up or nothing to make the burger eatable..as it was dry and overcooked. Apart from the food everything was excellent in the hotel. Next time we won't eat in..simple. no negatives.
