What people say
This hotel is just what we want from a hotel. Owners and staff were so friendly. The gym and pool were excellent. The room was clean and the bed was huge and comfortable. Flat screen freeview tv - a hotel that has got to the 21st century. And the view from our room - wonderful, and it was a basic room. Food was excellent too. Lovely hotel, fabulous staff, excellent food - the most pleasant stay I have had in a hotel in a very long time. all reviews »
The friendly service and the overall standard of the facilities. Attitude of staff and the quality of the leisure facilities. We loved the staff, the surroundings, the view, the simplicity, the food, the easygoing attitude, the furniture, the welcome, the staff the staff the staff!!!!!!. Extremely relaxing and laid back atmosphere, lovely location, excellent food at the hotel, all facilities available on site. Very friendly staff, clean room and good food. Would certainly recommend this hotel and its staff. The staff were very friendly and helpful! The food was lovely, however the portions were massive!!. Very friendly staff, excellent facilities and very good food. The hotel and its facilities were very good and very clean, The food that was on offer was beautifully cooked, tasted very nice and was served very promptly. We had a beautiful view of the coast line from our balcony. Overall a very lovely weekend and was definitely one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in.The location was great awesome views and the surrounding countryside, the hotel was well priced and nice to stay in. the staff were great. The staff were polite and very helpful and the rooms were clean. It was nice to have a pool to swim in. The room we moved into for the last couple of nights was much more relaxing and bright with super views of the sea which was great.Friendliness and helpfullness of staff. Range of gym equipment. Pool area very clean, tidy and well presented, room felt relaxing. Very good food for all meals and well presented too. Loved the small skittels area. Room lovely, Staff friendly and helpful, really enjoyed my stay. Good attention. Location, Good food, Easy access to Carmarthen and Pembrokeshire.Friendly staff. Huge bed!. I had a very quiet room, a very comfortable bed, plenty of clean towels and tea and coffee-making facilities, and helpful members of staff. The locally-caught fish at one of the dinners I had was superbly cooked. The rooms were large and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed all aspects of our stay here. Anyone who says there's something not to like is picking holes, frankly.Only one small gripe. The shower curtain had not been cleaned for a while and the bottom was covered in mould. Disappointed in that i booked a deluxe double room which we paid extra for and their pictures showed the room as having a double four poster bed but what we got was 2 single beds stuck together and made up to look like a double bed which we were not informed of and was definitely not worth the extra cost. The food menu was limited. the fact the lift was turned off at the weekend and every night before it was time for breakfast made me feel like a prisoner, could have warned me as I didn't see any signs. the shower was a little weak but usable, a little hard to find need better directions on any website that lists this hotel. The back room that we were in to start with looked out on a dark messy yard where the dog stayed. We asked for a move which was much better and more relaxing - but the bath plug stuck and we had to use a plunger to get it out after a bath!! The bath was broken all round the plastic edging (sharp) and needed replacing (health and safety). Evening meals were quite expensive for the quality. All corridors to rooms smelt of swimming pool. No hot chocolate sachet or biscuits in the room on arrival. Changing room and Steam room needs updating / tidying. New lockers with working locks required in changing room. Tiles missing off tiled seat in Jacuzzi. Tapering crack in pool room wall beside jacuzzi increacing in size from bottom to top, requires investigating. Update skittels area. The breakfast could of been of a higher standard, making your own tea, toast etc. milk in cartons too informal compared to the rest of the service at the hotel.Surroundings untidy. Upon using the toilet for the first time I was greeted by a gift from the last occupant! The corridor outside my room had a very storng smell of cholrine. The dining room was very dark, there was no reply to my query by e-mail regarding distance from the railway station and no help with transport to and from the hotel although the weather was awful. The rooms overlooked a caravan park rather than the river estuary, which you could only see over the trees in the distance. This made the hotel much noisier than the information had indicated. The rooms were over the outdoor bar area which did not close until midnight. The caravan park residents and local residents were drinking there unitl after midnight, which made it impossible to sleep.
