Our second visit to the White Horse while visiting our son in the University. The staff really are great. They had a Halloween party there at the time for the kids and all the staff were dressed up. The food is extremely good and the wine list is way better than the usual pub fare. On Saturday we went and sat in the lounge - our girls did thei... what people say » r homework and we had a few glasses of wine. Lovely atmosphere. The location is pretty good for the University too - its about a 10-15 minute drive i - lovely room, reasonably clean with lovely fresh white bedding, good breakfast made with quality ingredients, fabulous staff - very friendly and helpful! great location, building with history and character, great restaurant area with inglenook fireplace, interesting books and daily newspapers to browse great beer, nice friendly pub

The inn was wonderful. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. The food was supurb. I enjoyed the two dinners very much. Some of the best meals that I've ever had in England and I've probably spent 100 nights-plus in total in the UK. The value for the money was very good. - excellent food, wine even better; rooms rather small, but cosy ... what people say » and comfortable. Dining room lovely with open fireplace. We enjoyed staying very much and when we go back on a trip to that side of the country, we'll stay in this place
