After a long journey (9 hours) to reach the hotel we got a very warm welcome. The staff were extremely helpful and willing to share their local knowledge - Conrad even offered us a lift into town which we really appreciated. The room, although awaiting refurbishment, was extremely comfortable in particular the beds - I slept like a log. The bathroom was very clean and well appointed but the shower was rather weak. Breakfast each day was excellent with beautiful views down the garden to the cove.

We had a delightful break at Meudon, which boasts friendly, helpful staff; a unique situation; a wonderful garden; a beach at bottom of garden; stylish, renovated rooms; excellent Cornish breakfasts; a relaxed ambience; a very comfortable bed and distant sea peeps while taking a shower!. The staff were excellent--they were very friendly and efficient, and made a fuss of my wife's birthday, which was very much appreciated. The setting is magnificent, with the gardns descending to a small beach. The room was well appointed, and the bathroom was recently renovated. Friendly staff, very cosy bar with open fire overlooking the beautiful garden. Good walk direct to the beach from the hotel. The food was fresh and very tasty. The room we had was recently decorated and felt comfortable and was very clean, the bed was fantastic. The staff were freindly and polite, The food was excellent, The hotel was clean bright and very welcoming and the Garden which led to it's own private beach area was lovely- overall excellent staff, food and lovely room we could not have asked for more. The gardens are magnificent with flower beds and lots of places to sit at the top. More like jungle lower down, with giant plants as you follow the stream down to the beach. Very quite, close to the sea. Main house is very nice. As expected the hotel was in a quiet relaxing location, with good food and magnificent gardens. Lovely location, beautiful gardens. Slightly unkempt car parking area giving a poor first impression - so important!. It is a pity that the view of the hotel accommodation as you enter the car park doesn't do justice to it--from the garden, it is very picturesque. The drinks in the bar were a little pricey, probably normal hotel prices, but that would be our only criticism. Pillows were a not very comfortable - However i would rate this hotel 10 out of 10. Ground floor room was a bit noisy. The person above marched about until midnight, then started again at 6.45am. Will request a first floor room next time. Nothing really. I was only there for one night but would return. If I had paid full price I would have been a little dissapointed in my room but I believe renovation is ongoing so maybe that was why I got a good price?. Nothing to dislike. Poor television reception , no BBC channels ( more of an issue because I was travelling on my own so needed entertainment). Bedroom very clean and well equipped but a little dated in comparison to some advertised. Décor was smart but 'safe'. The true prices!. Dinner was quite disappointing, we went to the local pub the following night which was substantially better food and value. Checking in was a farce; we couldn't book in as the room wasn't ready even though we didn't arrive til after 3 pm. This wouldn't put us off returning though as there were lots of positives. The room I had could do with some re-decoration as it was a bit tired. quite narrow roads to get there for foreigners. Dinner was quite expensive for the range of dishes. poor wifi,. Nothing to dislike. Reception and all areas not refurbished we're very dated. Over powering smell i can only liken to an old people's home in many areas of hotel enough to put me off my breakfast! No disrespect to old people, I'm nearly one myself!. Wifi was terrible. wi-fi advertised, but signal too weak to use. no mobile (Orange) reception. Zimmer könnten eine Renovation vertragen. Recht einfach eingerichtet und auch nicht sonderlich gross für diesen Preis. There was a change of staff in the restaurant midway through our stay, first half very good, second half very poor. Whilst the reception, bar, and more experienced restaurant staff were friendly and helpful, the waiting staff lacked nous. Also, food service was very slow.
