The attention of the staff to make sure you were settled in.
The staff had put on the heating in the room in advance so it was lovely and warm.
I was leaving before breakfast started and they had laid out cereal and toast making facilities to use.
They have spent a lot of money on new carpets and upgrading bathrooms to make them clean and very fresh.
Very strong and secure wi-fi

The owner was so nice! One of the nicest people we've met!! Even though we were way past the Check-in time, an envelope with our key was waiting for us on the door. Our bed was extremely large and super comfortable. The room also had an unlimited supply of tea, coffee and cream :DD We also didn't have to bring our own hairdryer and adapters which was very handy. Location was nice - we almost never had to use public transportation ( 20 min walk til' old town). Breakfast was great, delicious and

Enjoyed Alba House from the start with a lovely and informative introduction from Bolbo (am sure I've misspelled his name). Very clean and large for an adult family of three and the location made it easy to get around by walking or public transportation. We ran into places which placed restrictions on when you could arrive for breakfast but the Alba House didn't impose any of those which helped us get an early start.

Room was very nicely and comfortably furnished, inpeccably clean that it

preferred to walk (about 15 minutes to Waverley Station). A large

John (the owner) gladly served breakfast earlier than usual for me, so
that was great hospitality. If it were not fully booked, I'd have
