Everything was spotless. Very carefully chosen quietly elegant decor. Expensive modern bathroom fittings and loads of hot water.. Surprising since the hotel was very cheap!! Excellent room heating controls on a very cold day..no problems. Proprietor friendly and very helpful re parking (a 15 minute walk away).

Excellent hotel with first class facilities, modern en suite with a really good shower.Run by the family who are very hospitable, and the breakfast choice is very good and would recommend the Scottish breakfast!

The Hotel is spotlessly clean. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. It is very close to the city center with lots of bars and restaurants on the way in. I would recommend The Mercat Gastropub for the tastiest food and drink and very friendly staff. The Hotel breakfast is superb and will definitely set you up for a day of site seeing. I will stay here again when I return. Excellent.

within walking distance of all we required.Loved the nice touches in dining room. Lovely crockery and tablecloths all make it more special.

Slight problem with ensuite heating but proprietor was quick to rectify this

The room itself was awesome, we had a very spacious room with a four-poster bed and excellent lounging opportunities. Also, the breakfast was very good!

We had to spent one night in another hotel a couple doors further down the road, but the room was cosy and the breakfast also nice.

car parking facilities were told that car parking free on sundays in city so left it for 4 hours to get new ticket old ticket ran out at 135pm got parking ticket at 145pm so beware if you park in morrison st car park !!

The hotel was really clean and quite, and the owner of the hotel was really really friendly. I had great time and if I will visit edinburgh again, I will stay this hotel again!!!
